will it shread everything ?

Post by Joe » 17 Oct 2009 02:27 pm

I am planning on converting my 340 dl and putting a t5 engine in it, ano there is a lot off hassle with this engine and alot of people will say why dont you just put a renualt engine in but who dares wins :) ano a few of you are pushing alot off horsepower and i was wondering what gearboxs you where using and if the standerd diff would take that horsepower, i am not planning on tunning the engine much further.I have done a few convertions on corsa's and i work on a mk2 escort rally car which pushes 300bhp out off a natrualy asparaited red top so ano a bit about doing convertions and that planning is key. Any information would be great cheers JOE

I'm sure someone will come along and clear this up better, but if you want a T5 engine in a 300 you may as well start with a 360 in the first place as they have a different driveshaft/prop setup to 340's.

Thats why if you have a 340 people go the Renault route for ease, i think Adam (340GLT on here) is doing something similar but from what i'm aware it's not a simple conversion or else everyone would be doing it.

As you say tho, he who dares wins so good luck with it :D

Will shred your wallet, that`s for sure - but good luck.
