hey guys im new

hey
im trying to find a volvo 340 1.4 and ive fount a auto one
my question is how hard is it to convert to manual
what i think i need is manual gearbox well der :lol:
clutch cable
clutch box and pedal
just i don't know weather any holes in the bulk head will be there
and i don't want to buy it and find out its a ball ache of a job to do

any info i will take with open arms

Hey there, welcome!
I'm only new myself, but I think this discussion has been run before and the general consensus is that you might as well buy a manual 1.4. Check the offers section, there's plenty of really tidy 1.4's going for silly money...

it can be done in 1 day, i did the conversion too.

what's different:
- gearbox + mounting brackets + mounting rubbers
- handbrake cable supports
- propshaft
- bellhousing
- complete clutch
- clutchcable
- clutchpedal
- flywheel
- gear selector
- gear selector support
- remove vacuumsystem for gearbox + clutch of the cvt and make sure this is leakfree

if you have a 340 all the mounting things to the body needed for conversion are present so no need for drilling holes etc.

thanks for the info guys just got to make up my mind
its this one on ebay that's cough my eye bin up for a while now plus t+t run out soon so dont know if its worth bothering

True enough man.
You can get a really decent manual with t and t for less than 500 easy dude.

yer thats what im thinking its gunna need t+t
and any bits that are needed for mot so just mot and tax for a yr its at nearly 600
without a manual gearbox and then there how the insrance will take it
nice car but not worth

just got back from collecting my 340 1.4 in blue done 61k
very clean never seen such a clean car and only payed 495 for it
that doesnt mean anything with out photos but i havetn got any till tomorrow
i can wait to get it lowered and welded diff and some other bits and bobs 340pw
