and if it's not been lowered more than 3" you should seriously consider a pair of new shocks if it is scrubbing....

worn bushes could cause this, or a previous shunt which has bent something subtley so you can't tell its happened. If it was a 360 I'd say the car had been ragged and the rear axle has bent, causing excessive toe-in but the 340s don't have the power to do it I don't think.

its lowerd by 3inch there is alot off camber on the wheels, i think it could be the axle not sitting in stright or something its really annoying tho cheerrs joe

To be fair they should not be scrubbing. Do they scrub whilst driving or just over bumps?

how exactly did you do that? I had never thought hitting the rear axle with a hammer would straighten it. The springs just seem to take up the shock, and you can't get a good swing with a sledge hammer really.

And believe me 1.4 340s do have the power to bend their rear axle for toe-in, you just need good enough tyres and give her plenty of revs.

I'm thinking a slice through the tube 90% with a big angle grinder, then hammer, but with precision measurement to check the alignment. Followed by welding back up again.

After measuring yesterday I take back the request for a good hammering. My wheels appear to be parallel, its just the astras impact on the arch that makes it look bad.
