Removing a Cat converter and Stainless systems?
so, im going to remove the cat on my exhaust, to improve efficiency. as i cant afford to loose money on some bullhonkey environmental theory.... and while im at it. is there anywhere i can get complete stainless systems? has anyone made compelte stainless systems? or even non stainless? i hear it can add some power

in holland we aren't allowed to remove the cat; that's MOT failure. a so called cat-replacer can be placed to fool the MOT man there is a cat under the car while it is a piece of hollow pipe instead.
i run stainless on my 340 turbo. lovely material to work with, with TIG you get really clean welds and after a few hard runs it gets a beautifull gold finish. it is quite expensive though, be prepared for high numbers if you start with it..

In Germany people do this (usually to old Mercs) once the 30 years "flat tax" threshold is reached and there is no financial gain from a cat any more. i'll have to ad to my post that it is a failure for any car from '88 or younger; or a car wich has a catalyst code on the vehicle documents. on cars from 87 or older there is no problem to remove it.

Yep you'll be fine to remove the cat on your car here int he UK when it's that old.

There is a company in the VOC who do full stainless systems for 300's. Not ricer spec mind, AFAIK they are very close copies of the stock system in stainless

You do not have a cat fitted to pass an MOT in the UK. The only thing the car has to do for MOT is pass the emissions test.
Sport exhaust systems - I'm sure I'm the only person offering full systems for teh 300 series in stainless.
