This one...? Haha, that's awesome :)

Having said that...and I don't want to spoil your illusion...but it's not actually a GLT! It started out life as a carbed GLE, although it does have the GLT front lip spoiler added. That car had its engine (B200K, with 40s added in 2005) removed in 2008 to be put in my '81 343 (see the link to the R-Sport car in my sig) and has been laid up ever since. I've got a B230 turbo waiting to go in it, but that's been a work in progress for 8 years or so! I recently dug it out from my old (now ex-) lock-up to move it to the new one, having not looked at it for 18 months or so...and I have to say that having gone down the retro route for a while (currently own 3x mk1s), I did take a deep breath and admire what a clean car it is (from a distance, at least)...it's just "got it"...and I've been neglecting it for far too long! Plan is to drop the B230 turbo in it later this year...then decide whether to press on with finishing it (wiring, boost pipework...fuel tank swap, etc, etc), or come back to it later. I'm kinda itching to get started on the mini-resto on my 164, you see...

Anyway, enough about my car...yours will look great on some 440 wheels. Are you thinking of the ones just like mine, or the slightly different ones with slits in the spokes? The other ones I'd love to see on a 300, but they're much rarer, are some they did which are almost like Borbet Type As. Chris C had a set for a short while (not long to get pics, I don't think), but turned one of them banana shaped... :(

cheers

Mine isn't lowered, just has mildly sagged springs, I think!

Are they the 15" ones? They're pretty unusual! There were also some vaguely rare 14" 440 Turbo alloys with straight spokes. The most common ones are the 14s with tapered spokes.

14s with tapered spokes (common)...

14s with straight spokes (rarer)...

...and can't find pics of the 15s (super rare!). They look like the straight ones, but bigger, have about 15-20mm of dish, and large centre caps with the word "volvo" off to one side...

Of course I prefer the two 'fan' styles, anyway :)

cheers

Atlas (14 straight spoke) and pollux (14 taper) look lame on a 300 imo. Atlas are ok without centre caps. Vega (borbet a) look now where near as good as they should, pic in my sig linky. Vesa though...

Vega...that's it! I knew it was four letters, but couldn't place it.

I still haven't seen a full set on a 300 with caps on...and vaguely clean (ahem, Chris ;))...but this looks like the best pic Chris took...

Joking aside, I'd be interested to see a good pic of at least one side of the car with them fitted, if you have any / can take easily...ideally without being knee deep in rally mud, you tart!

cheers

love the photos!

Mine doesn't start too well either, takes a few turns then i press the throttle half way and it catches after a few more turns, then runs at about 500rpm so i rev it at about 1500rpm for about 10 secs and its ok after that.

Jelous of your car :( haha
