Oh my god, what are you doing to me, Brown wheels, it shouldn't work but looks frickin awesome.

I'm off on the hunt for a 528 with manual box. They are getting hard to find nice ones for good money now though. They seem to be 1,8 or 2.0 and all auto's :(

Anyway enough of me highjacking your thread, back to the Glt goodness :D

well my mate paid fair money for it, i've not seen any 528 but would be awsome. They are getting pricey. Ye back to glt, what do you guys think of lowering it 40-50mm, may do it when i change the struts?

I say lower away mate, it improves the handling for sure. However if you Welsh back roads are pretty poor condition, potholed/lumpy bumpy i wouldn't go lower than you've suggested or you'll start hitting the undercarriage on the road.

20+ year old springs and shocks will be wobbly for sure. Replaceing these parts alone will make it feel a lot firmer. Remember: a GLT is lowered from factory, it doesn't have the top-heavy stance the other V300s have. I wouldn't lower it any more personally ...

This might give you a clue what stock ride height should be.... (granted non GLT)

Pah there's no point posting that... the earlier stuff was 2" higher than the later stuff anyway, regardless of GLT ;) GLT's do sit a little high though, a subtle 30mm drop I think would do without going over the top!

I do thing Dai's your best bet. He might be able to help with strut top mounts as well - another classic V300 "faily bit".

Id love to take it to uni but i cant really run it.

Well my plan is to get 2 glt stuts off theo if he is correct in remmbering he has some. Then try some 40mm lowering springs on them depending on price. what you guys do?

Every set of lowering gear ive had has been off Dai (4 or 5 sets I think) and its good stuff. Dont expect them to be the next day though.
Ive heard 3rd hand stories of Spax springs snapping after two or three months (the 340/360 versions are sold as the same, though the laden weights are different).

HTH dude.
