Cool man, cheers.Speedy88 wrote:To eradicate moisture I find a hair-dryer or heat gun on the metal before application, shortly after application (but not too much, or the paint will crack) and then after the paint has dried, lots of heat. It appears to have worked for me so far.

Take it back and put this on it.
I've had better results even putting that onto slight rust compared to nearly every zinc primer onto new steel Dread to think whats in it.
At least 2 coats of that (it's thick from the pot, aerosol not so) then colourcoat it.

My french crap has been in state of 'progress' quite time, too hot and dry to weld so I put few layers zink primer over welded seam and new steel, that has been sitting month now, sometimes has been rain and there is no visible change, even primer is not water proof, so that seem to be working rather well too, crazy guy puts both, mixing them with brush
Haven't had car for long time on road, actually have lost quite totally motivation too, too damn hot, I can use bicycle to do travelling that I need, it has much better ventilation too
Should continue to fix that thing, or maybe I should fix 240, it really is about same amount of work, 360 uses petrol so that is bit expensive to run.

What's one of those then?Speedy88 wrote:....hair-dryer.....
Well look at that! Had the car five minutes and he's pulling bits off it already.
Oh, and well done on the test pass, Rich. I'll phone Brian tomorrow and congratulate him on that result.

Re: MOT on ABBY the Vario 25/07/2012
We have another 12 months ticket ;D
Another 1st time pass with flying colours. (forgot to report on last year, but it was the same Chris )
0.98% CO against a permitted 4.5%
90ppm HC against a permitted 1,200
Mileage at test 20226, due again by 10th August next year at latest. It's done about 330 miles since the last test.
...now to sort this idling problem out.

Well done man.
Crying shame that the poor bugger does no miles at all.
The idling problem is probably just a cry for attention.

Re: MOT on ABBY the Vario 25/07/2012
Well she gets a long run out now and then.
Not long after the last MOT, the rear silencer needed replacing (usual rot and split of pipe going into it).
In about a month, she'll be 30, which means should I choose to do so (I most likely won't) I can import her and register her at the less extortionate 200 yoyos instead of 720.
All that aside, there's a least 1500 miles ahead with Super Hans, Bob and Vince going on tour to England and the Netherlands....

She's probably the only car I've had that is always presented early for test, rather than an oh-shit-it's-ran-out rush.
I've a number of jobs adding up on the thing:
Rev counter to fit
Electric mirrors to fit
Snowcap to fit
MTS Radio/cassette, amp, speakers and aerial to fit.
(I'm getting as bad as Mark for accessories)
