Note how the car gets tattier as time goes on - if you want to keep a car in good condition, don't do what I did!

I never realised this car was quite so well traveled.

Sad to hear about this, that rust did look pretty grim. Too much to do without a great deal of work and/or time off the road. Thats what eventually took my Mk1 off the road. A welding on a second set of sills and welding patches on patches on patches was too much. (I was keeping the car for the future when I had time to mess about with it, but it got knicked!). At least you made the decision yourself, although I know what you mean about having to give it up.

Yeah, it's been everywhere. 348460kms as of today. I won't make the 350K, more's the pity ...

Chris is pretty high up there ... I believe aukki from Finland scrapped a 360 at 400T km.

i know a Dutch mk2 340 saloon that did 525xxxkm with a B14! engine gave up at that mileage (shaftplay int he oilpump causing it to seige and break the dizzy's gear.) car's still going strong after inserting a new B14

I *just* have you Tom, 229,800miles today which is about 370,000km I think.

Tbf though, I engine swapped at 210,000 so a bit cheaty really

Sorry it' s come to this Tom, I felt bad about scrapping my first 360, but it really was similarly rusty. I hope it wasn't too much to do with my failing to get you those repair sections?

No worries John, the biggest problem was not having access to cheap labour :? Having said that, even Romania isn't that cheap anymore, but it would've cost me 2 or 3x as much to get the work done in Germany. And then I'd still have a car with almost 350T on the clock.
