Good evening all, been a busy day today, she is so close
10/02/17
first started off by seam sealing under the window edge

Image20170210_091950 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_092002 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_092032 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

also trimmed down the gutter rail to match the factory
Image20170210_092042 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

but did catch the filler, so needed to touch up and also removed the bump on the passengers side windscreen where the wing meets
Image20170210_092155 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_093151 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_093157 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

also felt that the boot needed a little filler over the repair weld
Image20170210_093210 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

as well as the drivers wing needed a bit more filler over the repair
Image20170210_093217 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

look good sanded down
Image20170210_111427 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

whilst the filler was drying i painted the spare set of brake disc dust shields with rust encapsulator, as mine were already rusty
Image20170210_111435 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

also painted the passenger inner wing where the welds were ground down
Image20170210_111442 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

then moved on to painted the inside of the doors
Image20170210_111454 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111457 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111510 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111514 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111518 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111520 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111522 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111528 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111532 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111534 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111536 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_111550 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

painted up the drivers wing over the welds and the other side of the brake shields
Image20170210_115430 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

set about working on the boot lid, found a little bit of rust on the edge and so tried to remove the windows side strip.... it broke
Image20170210_124454 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170210_124503 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

also removed the plug holes ready for the spoiler to be bolted on after painting
Image20170210_124507 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

next set about doing some of the little task left to do
cleaned the floor hole patches
Image20170210_125919 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

made the holes in the fuel pump cover a bit larger to accept the new bolts (i think this looks really good)
Image20170210_134036 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

drilled out the 3 holes that the wing uses to bolt in to near the door as the metal would not hold a screw in, nutsert'ed them
Image20170210_140901 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Image20170210_140913 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

then painted over it all and also all the wing clips ready for the wings to be mounted
Image20170210_142522 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Image20170210_142544 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

put the new painted disc plated on the struts
Image20170210_152339 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Image20170210_152343 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

and her first of her doors hung as well
Image20170210_153440 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
So all in all a busy day, paint time is so much closer

More to come soon

Good day all, a bit of an update
19/02/17
started off by stripping the new rear door, there was some rust along the seam so i welded that up and rust encapsulated it, as well as the inside of the door the same as the others, while that was drying i also refitted the vacuum servo for the clutch.

Image20170219_112115 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170219_112118 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

after the paint had dried a bit i started on the filler work, the welding did warp the metal a bit but hopfully nearly there
Image20170219_114052 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

SNOWCAP LOOKS GOOD :D:D
Image20170219_133828 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

back to the door
Image20170219_144845 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

refitted the handbrake ready for rolling away to painters
Image20170219_160714 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

refitted the clutch release arm
Image20170219_160734 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

door is getting there but needs some more work on it, might just be me
Image20170219_162143 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
thats all for now

Things are so close she is so close to being painted.

Well today is a mile stone.
14/03/17
Today started by cleaning up, primer and painting the bonnet hinge
Image20170314_130710 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Also touched up a small section with antitrust paint
Image20170314_131414 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170314_131416 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

And also used the chassis paint
Image20170314_131425 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170314_131436 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Then car has been cleared out of the of all the crap.
Image20170314_131444 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170314_131447 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Now for the big bit, after just over a year she is back on her spare wheels....... just have a little bit of seam sealer to do as I run out, but she is ready to go off to the painters.
Image20170314_133445 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170314_133453 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Now the bonnet hinges are painted
Image20170314_133924 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Turning my attention to black plastic, and fixing the front lip tomorrow.

More to follow

Good evening all, today's update.
15/03/17
Today I started work on front lip, melting in a piece of wire around the brakes and melted in plastic to build up the area.

Image20170315_101739 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170315_103134 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Filled in the random screw holes
Image20170315_103345 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170315_103349 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Next step was to bridge the broken hole
Image20170315_105028 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170315_105224 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Next was to apply some epoxy putty
Image20170315_110622 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

The new seam sealer arrived so I went up to the car and finished it off and also put the bonnet hinge back together and loosely fitted it to the car.

I also started cleaning up the snow cap, and the other parts of the front lip. More pics to follow.

Good day all, few little updates
16/03/17
Started today by sorting out the plastic parts, sanded down the putty.
Image20170316_102348 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Painted over the plastic with a black plastic paint,
Image20170316_102356 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170316_102402 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Prepped and primer the bumper inserts
Image20170316_134818 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170316_134826 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Really was not happy with the paint, sprayed on with drips, so went and got some black from halfords
Image20170316_134841 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Carried on tidying up the front lip

Image20170316_134909 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170316_134915 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Repaired the screw holes

Image20170316_161953 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
Image20170316_184045 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Added a bit of filler to the front lip
Image20170316_184059 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

The parts are getting there
Image20170316_184121 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

17/03/17
Bumper inserts now black, however there are still some scratch marks showing so not 100% happy, I'll see if I can get them to look better.
Image20170317_140932 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Snow cap looks good though
Image20170317_140947 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Some more to follow next weekend, and the car goes away to be painted on Monday.
