Duchess The Volvo 340 CVT
Re: Duchess The Volvo 340 CVT
Good evening all, been a busy day today, she is so close
10/02/17
first started off by seam sealing under the window edge

20170210_091950 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_092002 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_092032 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
also trimmed down the gutter rail to match the factory
20170210_092042 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
but did catch the filler, so needed to touch up and also removed the bump on the passengers side windscreen where the wing meets
20170210_092155 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_093151 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_093157 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
also felt that the boot needed a little filler over the repair weld
20170210_093210 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
as well as the drivers wing needed a bit more filler over the repair
20170210_093217 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
look good sanded down
20170210_111427 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
whilst the filler was drying i painted the spare set of brake disc dust shields with rust encapsulator, as mine were already rusty
20170210_111435 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
also painted the passenger inner wing where the welds were ground down
20170210_111442 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
then moved on to painted the inside of the doors

20170210_111536 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_111550 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
painted up the drivers wing over the welds and the other side of the brake shields
20170210_115430 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
set about working on the boot lid, found a little bit of rust on the edge and so tried to remove the windows side strip.... it broke
20170210_124454 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_124503 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
also removed the plug holes ready for the spoiler to be bolted on after painting
20170210_124507 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
next set about doing some of the little task left to do
cleaned the floor hole patches
20170210_125919 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
made the holes in the fuel pump cover a bit larger to accept the new bolts (i think this looks really good)
20170210_134036 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
drilled out the 3 holes that the wing uses to bolt in to near the door as the metal would not hold a screw in, nutsert'ed them
20170210_140901 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_140913 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
then painted over it all and also all the wing clips ready for the wings to be mounted
20170210_142522 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_142544 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
put the new painted disc plated on the struts
20170210_152339 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
20170210_152343 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
and her first of her doors hung as well
20170210_153440 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
So all in all a busy day, paint time is so much closer
More to come soon

Re: Duchess The Volvo 340 CVT
Good day all, a bit of an update
19/02/17
started off by stripping the new rear door, there was some rust along the seam so i welded that up and rust encapsulated it, as well as the inside of the door the same as the others, while that was drying i also refitted the vacuum servo for the clutch.

20170219_112118 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
after the paint had dried a bit i started on the filler work, the welding did warp the metal a bit but hopfully nearly there

SNOWCAP LOOKS GOOD :D
20170219_133828 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
back to the door
20170219_144845 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
refitted the handbrake ready for rolling away to painters
20170219_160714 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr
refitted the clutch release arm
20170219_160734 by Benjamin Charlton, on Flickr

Bumper inserts now black, however there are still some scratch marks showing so not 100% happy, I'll see if I can get them to look better.
