My 1.7 that I waited so long for!

Post by Thrasher07 » 02 Jan 2016 09:29 pm

Ok, I've had it since March 2015, but waited so long for one... May I introduce my 1989, 37,000 mile, 1.7 340 GL! :D

Unfortunately, not been going so great with the electronics at the minute (lights stuck on dipped beam on settings 0, 1 and 2!), but hopefully we'll get that sorted!

That looks like an awesome motor. It sounds like the switch or a relay has got stuck but then it could be the mount for the dipper-switch on the steering column. Classic Swede does a repair plate for the steering column mount...

... and I'm hoping he'll send me a free one as commission for this post - I jest, of course.

Great car, shame these problems have cropped up! I broke the indicator stalk bracket, but that has since been fixed. When that broke, I suddenly had problems where if I tried to use full beams, the car would switch off and then had no ignition! Stopped the cutting out, but left with the lights issue. A pin in the back of the fusebox had melted, so fixed it with a bit of solder forthe minute and ordered another one, hope that sorts the lights out.

Love my :340: though! Worth the wait!

Damn straight! I now have 3 black wheels and 1 silver lol. I'm saving for alloys, but gotta sort more pressing issues out first.

Hi mate.
A set of 480 alloys would look great on that.
Cheers Mark.
