trabitom's Mk1 343 GL Touring
There are no Mk1 cars available in here, well there is one, but it has no MOT, no papers and more rust than metal, also runs only with 3 cylinders when started, 4th starts later and I believe this is not equipped with Cummins engine that has warmup mode where only some of cylinders get fuel.
If I could find Mk1 car which would be possible to save, I might buy it for 100-200, however such thing does not exists here.
Mediorce 360 costs around 700, good one double of that and ready for crusher cars tend to cost 300-400
Incredible finds you lot of people do these days

Damn! I sold a Zender Scirocco spoiler not that long ago...trabitom99 wrote:even the boot spoiler is the Oettinger "Zender" version rather than the standard Volvo Mk1/2 rear spoiler. I read here (clickme) it was the same as the one fitted to a VW Scirocco?
Lovely car. After a good polish that's going to look the nuts
Some pop up for sale from time to time but not too often. Weird, there's only one 343 @ blocket.se for sale also which looks to be in good condition. Usually there are many more.jtbo wrote:There are no Mk1 cars available in here, well there is one, but it has no MOT, no papers and more rust than metal, also runs only with 3 cylinders when started, 4th starts later and I believe this is not equipped with Cummins engine that has warmup mode where only some of cylinders get fuel.

You'll have to get one from Sweden.

1976 Mk1s are really special. I know of only one V300 fan who ownes one - Freerk of V3C and that is undergoing full restauration at the moment. tttom also has a very early '77 model with all the '76 chrome trimmings - could well be that that was built in '76 too.Duvel78 wrote:What happens here with mk1 suddenly?? We all go crazy! Me too! I've seen a nice mk1 in France, a 76 model, my dream...
The problem with the French cars is: they're always so far away! You have to be very sure about a car to go do a 1600km round trip. There's also this car:

and this car:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0277911160
which would have been nice, but soooo far off ...
It's the same problem with the Spanish and Italian A/C equipped cars, which turn up from time to time. Not to mention the Australian ones
There is a 345 though, an S-Version too:Fuse wrote:Some pop up for sale from time to time but not too often. Weird, there's only one 343 @ blocket.se for sale also which looks to be in good condition. Usually there are many more

The bits will definitely be saved no matter what. Really, I paid for the front and rear spoilers, and got a car with 6 months' MOT for free But if at all possible I would like to save the car. I like original cars, so keeping this slightly ratty but original car on the road is slightly preferable to me than finding a mint car and kitting it out with the bits.Stefan wrote:Well if it is that bad you will have to sell it to me I would save it just for the front spoiler
I've PM'd Erik from V3C, Jeroen says he's "really optimistic that a car is never rotten enough to fix! "

Le temptation:

An added plus it that I haven't a clue where 'dognen' is, and can only half read the description. So I could convince myself it's a minter and only just across the channel, minutes from le chunnel.
They never taught us the french for 'complete rotbox' in school.

Wow, those rims do look good. Well, Mk2 GLT's would look stunning too! I think weve got exactly the same color btw. My 77 343 looks really like that.
Is that your car, that pic of 88, or just a coincidence?
For MK1's: Look at:
www.blocket.se
www.ebay.fr
www.leboncoin.fr (looks a lot like blocket)
www.marktplaats.nl (there are a couple on there right now)
www.speurders.nl (though not a lot)
Also on the V3C site there are some. www.volvo300club.nl -> 'advertenties'

I doubt it. Judging by the car's owners in the car papers, it never left the town it was sold in, in southern Germany. It's still on it's original (non-Euro) "HN" Heilbronn plates.pistonpen paultje wrote:Wow, those rims do look good. Well, Mk2 GLT's would look stunning too! EDIT: Helge says he took the picture in '95 in Nuremburg, in the back yard of an ex-Volvo dealer.
The colour is 155 signal red.
My choice of rims in order of preference:
* Oettinger (were they really from Oettinger or from some other company? Might be an idea to check the logo on the wheel hub cap)
* the original steelies, but refurbished to get rid of the rust.
* "black beauty" 13" GT rims
* 14" Leos painted like they were on the R-Sport ...
Anyway, there's work to be done first
Cheers
Tom

Holy crap that photo of a touring model in 1988 looks so awesome... that there is Mk1 porn! Why are they all coming up elsewhere in europe?!
Tom, with a polish that colour is gonna look superb! I'd go with the 13" GT wheels, not strictly original BUT the right look for that car imo
