not even a guy with loads of v300 OR 5gt turbo knowledge will be able to start this beast now
good call mate.
Sounds like the most extensive V300 security ever.
Hope its never needed though.

ok thanks looked like it may have fit in a daf, the standard one definitly will not as the turbo will be in the bulk head.

standard manifold will definatly not fit in a daf; even if it does fit you get the risk of fire with the turbo so close to the firewall. a custom manifold is the way to go, especially since the engine is placed in length unlinke in the renault 5 turbo, the turbo benefits from a little driving wind too.

the car has been dual-lipped!

clearence is about 4 inches, will be 3 inches or something like that with the 220lbs springs in place

alpine engine is for sale atm, don't know if i have the time to rebuild that engine AND convert this beast to t3 turbo + custom fuel injection.. 300hp at least will be the result of that (probably about 350hp and 400nm), but it will cost a dawm shitload of money to get there keeping my standards.

i'll focus myself on the brakes/suspension/interior in the near future; maybe getting the alpine turbo engine rebuild and tuned after that :D

keep in mind engine transplant and the mod's i did along that process was only stage 1 of the entire operation, so no time for a real celebration yet, no where near finished at all! but i do think it allready drives totaly freak and awsome :D

yesterday was my first drive on wet tarmac without rain since the engine transplant, after engine was warm i wanted to make some speed, i pulled up from first gear, shifted at 3500rpm then did full throttle in second gear and he did a full rolling burnout!! i threw flames out of the exhaust hitting the revlimiter when drifting a roundabout; very cool noise and sound that was :D then next came a roundabout with a long S bend after it wich i drifted all the way, even changed from 2nd to 3rd gear while the switch took place in the s-bend.

today on dry i tryed the same trick as yesterday, pullup in first, shift at 3500 rpm and then full throttle in second and he did a rolling burnout AGAIN!!! :D :D :D and that was with the wheels frome above with 195 wide tyres at normal pressure 8)

the car feels and handles so balanced and good that i allready dare to drive it like this, even though i'm definatly not used to all this power under the right foot, it drives like a maniac. and even then i'm still planning to put at least 200bhp on the rear wheels with this engine!

i definatly need to finish the exhaust, waiting for stainless steel parts at the moment. after the exhaust is under and the extreme noise is controled with the y-valve i think i'm brave enough to drive it through the whole country and do some mileage, the engine still needs to be handled extra carefully since the refurbishment "woops"

while diagnosing this problem:

i had to use the floaterchamber section of my spare carb so i didn't have enough material left to rebuild one good carb, so i've bought 2 good ones. i need to get rid of the current carb asap since it has a torn/broken carbfoot and makes a fuel consumption of 20 liters per 50km, extremely high! at least i know for sure it's not running lean though..

so today one of the two came in, along with an intake manifold wich i'm planning to polish. too bad this is going to be the group-a spec carb since the old owner had it in his garage box for a few years. the other one has come of a good running car a week ago so that will be swapped straight to my car.

almost looking refurbished :D

then came another long waited package:

stainless steel exhaust parts!

along with the stainless steel damper i allready had:

"lowsound" principal:
Image

and the y-valve this will make a semi stainless steel exhaust line, the downpipe will stay steel since i'm planning bigger turbo, hot cam and group-a spec carb in the future. that will come along with stainless steel downpipe, and a new exhaust manifold.

i've also fixed the ignition fault; he was throwing flames out of the exhaust when slightly above 4500rpm
hope it didn't damage the turbo, i still have the normal pressure though.

tweeked engine today, mixture is now almost optimal. big increase in hp noticed :D
i do hope the second spare carb is coming this week since the current one isn't too reliable :(

also fixed an oil leak; oil filling cap didn't seal properly so swapped it for a new one. then fixed the speedo, did some electrics and the dash is working properly again.

started on new sump yesterday, i'll weld it tomorrow night and get it along with new lowering springs to the powdercoater guy on friday.

dawm, loads of work to do in soo little time..
