I never even noticed the change of plates till it was mentioned!
Certainly doesnt detract from the look of the car. Still looks awesome.

Good effort, car's looking way better than it did when you bought it - nice and shiny in them shots

Re: Derrick the Volvo!
Thanks Guys! Great to know efforts don't go un-noticed. Sam, Im well chuffed with it! Especially since I built it and it works!
I'll know how good it is once I get niggles like the clutch slip and exhaust done.
Got the beast booked in for a full stainless zorst system on saturday, and Im in talks with one of the lads from Area 52 on RR, as the 2 front jacking points have failed.
I knew theyd need to be done, but with the MOT up in very early may and me only getting some money in now, I need them done sharpish! That and a replacement rear shock, due to the unknown bending of the other one.
Couple of pics of the damage

Rear ones are fine, but it'll be a good oppurtunity to blitz any more rust thats under the car.
Need some electrical tape for the loom connections too.

Re: Derrick the Volvo!
Ouch, carpet out because that'll need attention from above. Maybe take the opportunity to extend the jacking point to attach to the chassis rail, adding a lot of strength for minimal effort?

Re: Derrick the Volvo!
Cheers John, will use that advice wisely! Haven't looked at5 the carpet yet, but got it booked in at the same place that did my exhaust. Did a fantastic job, and the welding is spot on, so I know he's capable. Also a cheaper quote than Area 52 on RR.
We were chatting bout the best route to do it, and thats a great help. Cheers lad.
Me n speedy are going for a photoshoot this evening, so should be some good shots! Great evening for it.

Re: Derrick the Volvo!
haha. That's all I'll say.
Re: Derrick the Volvo!
ha ha, so er . . . the shoot didnt happen. My clucth cable pedal end plastic jobby failed
Thats the plan for tomorrow though! re fit plastic jobby, fit new clutch cable! Old one was jamming when cold, so extra pressure snapped the plastic. Should be ok with the new one.
Massive thanks to speedy for cramming himself under the dash, I was too tall, so was reduced to lighting duty
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
On a plus side, the new exhaust system is the muts nuts, sounds real nice, and quality is awesome. Sweet!

Re: Derrick the Volvo!
It'll actually be easier to fit tomorrow as we can fit pedal end first with all the slack we need!
Nah I'll be honest, I still had fun. Anything to work on an old car. Wish it was my job tbh.

Re: Derrick the Volvo!
Thats all right then!
yeah, would be an epic job.
Some quick pics of the exhaust, as an apology to the lack of other pics. Only phone ones, but tomorrow should see some proper ones taken . . .

Fantastic work. Got Martyn (guy who fabbed it) to chop a small section out of the rear valance, so it looks standard-ish. Due to the leaf spring, the exhaust is tucked up slightly, instead of resting on the metal. No fancy rolled or slash cut tailpipe, just straight. Looks real neat and tidy. Sounds great too!

Bummer dude, been there myself, when mine went it stranded me 45mins from home

The good news is you can still get the part from Volvo, or more to the point a 400 part, which is an improved metal design

The 'zorst looks like a goodun.

Re: Derrick the Volvo!
AH! Thanks for the tip off! Was thinking plastic is a little fragile. Going with speedy to a scrappy today, so hopefully I'll find one there, other wise I'll order one from volvo.
