got the welder working for a few hours today so i got of my arse for a change and did the exhaust with a helping hand from a mate, my welding skills are pretty much 0 but it turned out ok, lost the light abit for welding so need to weld the bracket on that i made to mount the back box and make a hanger for the trans tunnel bit, will get all that sorted tomorrow and get some pics of it on the car:

I just did mine with bits of old coat hanger with a blob of weld on the bottom to hold it onto the exhaust. Sounds a bit pikey but it works well and I'm never going to see it :D

how did you find a coat hanger thick/strong enough lol, like you say if it works its all good, ive now sorted it with a trip to the local garden center for a hanging basket bracket lol, chopped it up and welded two bits together and it seems all good :D

didnt manage to get the exhaust on the car as the welder is playing up again :(

suppose its a small update,

sill is patched up now, took all the shit out the car from what was left over from the conversion

got a new/old steering wheel, its off a old american truck, nothing amazing, 13" with a slight dish, i like it, goes well with the old volvo, just need to either mod the boss that came with the wheel or buy a long aftermarket one,

and it took me a while i know but thats rite the exhaust is finnaly on! im really pleased with it,its still abit to loud but its miles better than what that (so called) engineer did! for got to take pics under the car whhen it was light but i will get some but snapped a few anyways

pics dont show it well enough but it was like this when i first got it so its come along way lol, if anyone needs any bits i cant recomend the ebay company more and i will find the name if anyones interested,
Image

took it to a local garage were its booked in for its mot to get some bits it needs and its private land and the owner let me ggave me permission to have a quick play (think he just wanted to see it go lol, i didnt go crazy, just launched it a few times and did a few hoops and it put the smile back on my face that i lost when i got all the problems and i wasnt happy befo i whent out because it aint charging again,

heres how she currently stands:

looking good! im going to be doing the exhaust on mine this weekend - whats yours like for clearance over the driveshaft?
and that rust repair looks good too, mines just gone there so i will need to do it aswell at some point. with the sills on one of my old lolvos i just simply welded flat plates onto the old metal (non rusty bits) and just joined them all together at the bottom with weld - not pretty but noone will ever see it and it was solid as a rock!

cheers man, there not miles of space tbh but theres more than enough, ive welded a solid bracket to the exhaust and bolted it to the chassie leg so it cant move and hit anything, what size pipe you useing?
yea aslong as the patches are strong that's all that matters unless your building a show car or something
