KHROME WHEEL NUTS ASAP- will finish the look off a treat, nice wheel choice all the same. 8)

EDIT: and drop it, it's the absolute double of mine, and dropping 2" worked a treat for me.

That is with a 2" drop on the rear and 3" drop on the front. Its because they are 175/50/13 tyres.

Looks nice, but cant help thinking it really needs 14"s minimum, good colour and wheel combo though

Some how missed you post ;)

The 205 GTI 1.9 is mine and the yellow mk2 escort (there is a white one as well some where) The hillman imp is my brothers car.

Bit of a mini update.
In an attempt to sort out the front shock absorbers to get rid of the bounce with the stiff springs i swapped the oil wiht EP80 gear oil, after that the car started diving under heaver breaking , to the right. So i took the right shock out again an tried to bleed it again, its less diving than it was but now after the initial dive to the right it now wobbles to the left then and all over the place   so im going to make once last attemt tommorow with bleeding the left shock this time. If that fails im just going to fit some new shocks (got to better than my 140,000 mile ones :)

Oh and looking forward to meeting who ever is going to retro rides this weekend!

Remember i mentioned i had a knocking noise for the rear of the car (Possibley Gearbox) well it turned out to be loose driveshaft bolts

Anyway was driving home from a mate house about 1am this morning in the really bad rain that we have been having and i came to a road that is often flooded with a couple of inches when its like this. Didn't think much of it. i whent through and got through without any issues. was only 30seconds later the car started to missfire and another 30 seconds later the car stopped dead, DOH!

i then spent the next 30-45 minutes drying connections and wiring and applying WD40 to everything (its all i had). the car still refused to start. however it is cranking and turning over so i dont think i have Hydraulic'ed the engine.

Called RAC.
"Some one will be with you within 75 Minutes" PFFFFFT :(

I then had the car recoved and got home @ 4am :(

So first plan when i get home is to see if its dryed out at all and hope it starts.

Moral of the Story:
3" drop + 175/50/13 tyres + 2 Inches of water = FAIL!

Where abouts have you got your air intake mate?! Fake's been through well over 18" of water a fair few times, granted mine isn't dropped, but that was with the stock behind bumper feed. At least it proof nearly all my door seals were good

Glad you found out about the driveshaft bolts though!

Tbh it was only a couple of inches of water at most :)

I had a quick look at the engine last night,
being a 16v, the plugs are in a deep recess. under a cover, this had about an inch and a half of water in it!,looks like it came over the top of the engine. I cleared all that, dried the plugs and leads, but it still wont fire :( tonight (weather permiting) im going to actualy check for spark and take it from there.

The Air in Take is next to the bulkhead with a pipercross filter on the end of the manifold.
