Cheers matey, good to know! I've contacted Theo already about some props, but if you have one spare on the off chance, I'd gladly take it off your hands!
Heres a pic of the fubard prop. Clearly rounded off.
No splines left what so ever. Pretty much polished!
Jobs that are on the cards while the beast is out of action#: Handbrake cables (front and rear), poly exhaust mounts, new washer jets (bonnet mounted) and possibly re-fit the bonnet lifers.

Surprised it didn't let go earlier tbh. I've just given my spare to Chris but I *might* have one by Sunday night, no promises though.

Don't put a new prop on damaged splines, it'll just do it again!

Cheers dude. Let me know!
Chris, I realise there's a risk, but most of the splines are intact. I can slide the propshaft forward a little, and it'll have clean splines to clamp on to. If I can find one, I will be replacing the clutch shaft though.

A little addition to my keys. A mate of mine just finished an internship at Airbus, had a load of these. I realise you need the keys in the car for it to work, and not "remove them for driving" it's still wicked.

There is only one place the prop can sit to be on "correctly" (as in won't break more stuff) and that is all the way back with around a mm of spline showing at the gearbox end. Anywhere else and you'll strip the splines for a different reason bud. I'm sure you'll be able to find one, theres a 1.7 for sale in the sales section

Cheers Chris, thanks. I'll replace the shaft first then! There's a 1.7 engine for sale, but the guy needs the housing/shaft etc for the conversion. I've still asked him though.

Don't chuck your props please...they may be able to be salvaged at some point.

What with the amount of prop failures we seem to have round these parts, i've had some discussions with a custom prop company.
They have told me they will do a group discount if i can get ten ordered, before i even consider going ahead i thought it would be a good idea to see what you guys would be willing to pay for them.

I was literally about to contact companies about props today, as I can see props going in the future regardless of engine alignment, spline well being and general wear. That, and also the amount of power I'm planning on getting out of the engine.
How much were they on their own (not as a batch)? I'm assuming some stupid amount of money. For a ball park price I'd be happy to pay £250. No idea how much custom units are though to be honest. So long as it's built well, I'd be happy to pay for it.
Still got the prop atm mac, don't worry!

You'll be happy then, just shy of £200 individually and a wee bit cheaper like i say if ten or more are ordered

Hmm that's not as bad as I thought to be honest, I imagined something stupid like £500

I've been chatting to a neighbour who gets props made up for his trucks/vans at a place called H.J. Chards in Bristol. I'll give them a ring tomorrow, see what they can do.

do a search on here on reco prop first
and if you do contact them, ask if they can solve the balancing problem before your car turns into a vibrator while you're cruisin around.
