WooDooUKs ReVolvo Project Trackday 2
same thing happened to me last year, didnt know if i should have took the spark plugs out with all the water in there so i got a party straw and got suckin'
, didnt effect the dizzy cap on my car but mine didnt get extremely wet, did like to keep misfiring here and there for 50 miles till it evapourated all the water out of there.
maybe worth checking the intake manifold if it got totally soaked?, going through alot of water with throttle on may have sucked a bit of water in maybe?
cheers

Well whilst trying to sort the water issues my starter decided that it didn't like the water conditions i had subjected it to and went on strike.
so with just 4 days to a trackday i had got booked at llandow Adam (340GLT) came to the rescue with a starter, by this time the car had dried nicely and only took a little fettling to get it to start. At which point it would start and then the revs would just keep on rising. Turned out to be the Idle Control Valve had also complained about the water and rusted solid in the open position. Fortunatley i had a spare so we were ready to rock
Cheers again Adam,
So saturday came and went and it was a great day, the weather forcast was a always threatening. But it turned out great! Not sure if something was up with the front of the car, but i have never ever known a RWD car under so much when hoofing it, 35 front PSI and 38 rear, and with the Landrover shocks on the rear i was expecting it to be very over steery, I will take a look at it at some point. Any way PICS fromt my new uber SLR Camera!

Well finaly decided what was missing from the inside of my car. bit smaller than the std volvo one.

just got to pickup a Pug 205 boss from my local rally spares place tommorow and see what if anything i can do to get the self canceling to work. I will let you know what i come up with.

Cool, i was kinda hoping it would be as simple as that, difficlut to tell till i get hold of one.cheshire190e wrote:just to let you know, to get the self canceling to work i took the ring from the original steering wheel and fitted it to the 205 boss. i had to grind the canceling stork of the 205 boss though so it would fit up flush.
Hope this helps.
Matt
the wheel is a OMP "ahem Replica ahem" even came with an OMP Horn button
seems to have gone up £8 in price since thursday,
im going to pop into peterlloyd tommorow and get a boss for a 205 as they are about the same every where else by the time you have payed the postage.

The quality of the wheel was a little off, the 6 holes didn't quite line up so needed to do all the bolts at the same time. and the horn button was to small for the wheel and kept falling out
got another one with my boss tho.
Well i have just come in from fitting the wheel, the boss is an Ektor 1328 i had to shorten it slightly to get the splines completey that worked a treat. still unable to sort the self canceling indicators tho, was unable to use the one of the volvo wheel as it would still be to short.
Still need to mount a horn button on the dash somwhere.

Definatley would like to sort it at some point in the future.

Get a Momo one they work just fine. I like having my horn where i can get to it in a hurry - i.e. right in the middle of my steering wheel, not somewhere stupid. A horn can stop people hitting you, or stop a kid walking out in front of you. And being without indicator self cancelling is just making your life more complicated than it needs to be.

I have two bosses, both of which accept the 'normal' horn ring. The one I have sat in my room is a Nardi 5307, which is collapsible (in the event of an accident). The one on my 343 (I can't remember who makes it...but it's not Momo, IIRC...) is rigid.
I agree it's well worth a bit of extra cash for a 'bolt-on'.
cheers
