My mate Ash is in his second year there so fingers crossed I can get in and do my Access to Higher Education Diploma and crack on! I'll know more in March.
Cheers lad!! Yeah go for it, make sure you get on one with practical hands on stuff too though, otherwise you'll be bored out of your mind!

Did i spy on DW that your off to santa-pod on the 28th? If so ill see you up there for a bit of Volvo twinning! sm4
Cheers Steve, yeah I'm going to be at POD on the 28th. looking forward to it!!

And Mark, to be fair, that was my fault. The rear jacking point is dodgy, so i jack it up from there now to take wheels off etc. Stupidly forgot that when taking off the leaf spring mounts to fit blocks, the rear axle (where the jack is sitting) completely detaches from the car. "Facepalm" does not do the failure justice. We were ok thank God, but I'm kicking myself to be fair!

Retard...

Then again I found the pic of me and Foggy lifting an engine out using an aux belt the other day. I seem to get a lot more nervous about things now.

For added staying alive.

Fucks sake.
I mean, jesus.

How long does it take to put stands in?

Or wheels under the sills?

Not cool man. That hat will NOT hold the weight of a 300.

Ha ha, near death banter is always a laugh. Not updated this for a little while, as nothing has really happened in terms of changing/improving the car. I have uni and moving house to thank for that!

Anyway, on the 28th Jan I did my first drift day, which went really well! Started off on the kidney track and playpens to get a feel for things, and then managed to get on the EDC track in the afternoon. It was awesome.

The day started off wet, I let some air out of the 60psi tyres (I thought it was going to be dry) and still kept spinning. I later checked the pressures and they were still at 50psi. no wonder I was struggling. After that, running 30psi for the whole day was fine, even when it dried out. Steps out really nice and easy and is predictable. need to sort the suspension out though, and just practice. I kept getting a shed load of understeer on certain sections, and I'm not getting the right line for the corners. but hey, practice makes perfect! Derrick ran really well, whipped the bumper off to aid cooling, and all was peachy. Only used a pair of tyres and 1/2 tank of fuel. Clearly wasn't trying hard enough!! I got a few videos from the day, this one is the only one I've managed to upload so far. It's on the Large EDC track.

Also, now I'm running no rear interior, I've made some speaker panels for the rear, out of carbon fibre. Still a work in progress, but it's good practice for any other stuff I want to make in the future. Nothing fancy so far, but I'll work my way up to more intricate stuff later.

They go here, this panel mad in ali to try out (the carbon one will be a lot neater!!)

Hopefully the panels should be done by the end of the week. Will be good to see them finished and in the car!
