I had the exhaust renewed downwards from the front muffler. There's this one exhaust/manifold specialist at downtown who has done exhaust systems since the 70's so I didn't bother to assemble the exhaust from generic pieces my self as this guy bended a one piece exhaust for 80 euros while waiting.. Not much point to start welding one from pieces at that price. Bends and pieces would've probably cost almost the same alone and it wouldn't have been a 1 piece system without weld seams.
New one is a 2.5" system like the old one.
) and I'll be doing some fuel and oil system upgrades when I feel up to it, so I'll keep you posted and post some pics later. 
I know how you feel, I was in the same situation a few years ago. 
(Original 360 pump is not available anymore) So I bought a Volvo pump for 940. It will fit in place with the correct (deeper) pulley. I will replace the viscous fan with an electrical one also at the same time. I also ordered an alternator bracket originally found from a Volvo 740. I'll use that to move the alternator to the intake side of the engine.
(Don't mind the faded look, I haven't washed the car for a while.. It's going to get buffed and waxed properly after I'll get the more important stuff out of the way)
