Its not mine, im never going to drive it, and im probably never even going to even see it, but im still very concerned at proximity of that ladder and the beautiful beautiful arse of that cobra (rep).
If its touching, I think someones going to be in trouble.

Small update:
Tonight i have started stripping the engine untill i got stuck because i couldn't find my Torx-55 bit, doh!
But i striped the bottom end and checked the bearings and they all look like they should for an engine thats done 70,000 miles, so looks like it may be a piston then,
wont know till i get the head off tommorow.

Sorry to hear from troubles, it does sound quite bad, but I wish it will be simple and cheap to fix.
I learned my lesson with red lights one day too, people that owned car told me it is nothing to worry about, well engine broke middle of nowhere at -30C 2am at Christmas eve...
BTW, you should stop posting pics of that Cobra, people will have very high laundry bills

Right No more Cobra pictures for you lot!
ANSWERS!
after buying a new T55 Torx bit finding it was to big to fit down into the head, Then finding my original one i was able to get the head off and turn the crank over (with extreme difficulty) to take all the other big ends out. and strip the rest of the engine.

And Everything Layed out nicley :0

Those clicked the Above picture to Zoom in may have noticed Big end bearing Number 2

as you can imagine these took some persuasion to part from the Crank after they had friction welded themselves to it!
The crank istelf looks not to bad after a good rub down, but im still going to get it measured, cleaned and checked over,
All in all, it looks like i might get away with some new Bearings and a possible crank re-grind. \o/
I also stripped to the oilpump to see if there was any obvious reason to the Low oil pressure, Couldn't see one.
However i did notice these on the exhaust side of the block, there are just through the water channels into the head bolt holes and not through into the oil channels (no cracks there, I checked) it may have been like this for a long time, prior to the big end siezing it was running perfectly, so im not that concerned about it.

Re: WooDooUKs ReVolvo Project (Update 05/03/09) Answers!!
That other block i had from you had done that, its a common problem on the 1.8 bottom ends and williams bottom end. Thats why the later megane bottom end is sought after, its much stronger and doesnt tend to do that.

Re: WooDooUKs ReVolvo Project (Update 05/03/09) Answers!!
Redblocks are made of bell metal though. I wonder if anyone knows the exact composition of each engine's iron. My 740's had a noisy big end since i got it, hasn't got any worse and I can't be bothered to sort it out.
There's a megane F7R in a scrappy near me, I gather the done thing is to fit the clio head for it's distributor-ness as opposed to the meggy coil pack system? Even though the megane has bigger valves iirc?

They sure is made of stern stuff. A mate took a 90+ exhaust manifold to have its turbo flange milled flat (for a T3) at a machine shop. "5-10 mins", the guy claimed. Just over an hour and a blunted tool later...
Usually coil packs > dizzy....but unfortunately Renault fail again, and Meggy coil packs fail faster than Steve's MX5 at a "most hetero car evar" contest.
cheers
