Maybe humidity causing paint problems? Condensation on the metal?. Those gas heaters can send out quite a bit of moisture and the metal will be cold even if the heaters been on.

Yeah it was still cold, but definitley not damp with condensation. Actually, I don't think I did have the fire on as I was moving around everywhere. Thinking about it, I never had it on for this reason (condensation). Was definitley a mild day, and the cans were warm, clearly not warm enough. Live and learn!

Only had one coat on mate. 20-25cm away as usual. Makes no sense.

Nah, I'm not feeling like that. I can't wait to see it come together, and there's only way to make that happen... Get workin on yours. Summer is for enjoying cars, not building them!

Yeah if the metal is too cold the paint is going to change temperature pretty quickly. Perhaps test a small section, heat the metal with a gun/blow torch?

May have to wait until the weather warms a bit, but this causes me all kinds of issues. Hmmm. Cheers for the suggestions everyone.

Oh yeah, talked it through with my dad, and we've worked out how to make the turrets.

Cheers to Nikdev for the info too. 8)

Was some random courier mate. Rebooked them to return tomorrow, hopefully. This is from eBay, it's an OBP type from the OBP eBay shop. The m/c is a 700, just the standard they supply. It can be changed later on I guess, but can't see it makin a massive difference tbh.

[EDIT] This one

ahh i was going to go for a 700 anyway, mates got a .65 in his mx5 and .75 in a s14, they both lock up great even at the start and end of a drift day so my thought was go in the middle, ive only drove the mx5 with the .65 and it seems to lock up better

Pete came over again tonight and worked his magic on the doors, finished the bottom of the passenger door and done the top and bottom on the drivers side, then repaired the mess I made on the scuttle corner. 8)

Wasn't bad at all luckily. Much better all round than the other door. You will notice (or Matt will anyway lol) that the mirror holes have been plugged once more. Fender mirrors FTW (IMO).

The scuttle panel corner ended up needing three patches, thanks to what initially just appeared to be paint blisters. Beware people!
I had already let in the new metal on the downward section, next to the gutter, but I made a mess of it and thinned it out in places when I dressed the welds as I got carried away with the Powerfile  (pics earlier in thread - when it looked decent). Thankfully, Pete was able to save this, which not only saved time, but also meant we stopped around 11pm.

I don't have any houses right next to the garage, so I don't think I will have upset anyone, but you never know!

It only needed a bit of weld adding here and there to bring it back up to scratch. Same deal for the patch on the front, he just had to repair it a little and tidy it up. He let in a new section on top of the scuttle, dressed it, bent back and rewelded the gutter and was done!

Top marks to the bloke. I am very happy with the outcome.

The postman brought me some more pressies today too. I have been getting cool parcels every other day, can't beat it lol.

These were supposed to be black.

I also got a card from RM saying I have a parcel to collect that has fallen 22p short of the postage price, so add a quid for 'handling' and I can find out what it is. :chin
