Right so time for an update, the car has been great over the last year. I have been doing bits and pieces but only really small stuff to keep the car on the road all the time. A much bigger update will be taking place towards the end of the month, including, rods, K24 upgrade, and a brembo upgrade all round.

The car pretty much sat how she was for a while. I tried some Focus ST wheels on for a laugh that belonged to a buddy of mine. And then disaster stuck, the UK roads and i think a combination of a previous powdercoating process took its course on the compomotives and i cracked the front two.
So the search for a new set of wheels turned up a set of Jaguar 18inch splits that needed a refurb. So painted the barrels body colour with a brushed ally lip and satin bronze centres.
Here are the refurb pics, but better pics on the car to come.

Wow! that is looking spot on with those jag wheels! I love the colour scheme you have gone with. Looks to be a nice White BH Legacy (GTB?) parked next to your 850 too!

Matt.

I didnt realise your compmotives cracked, they looked good, but the jag rims look better!

The goes, and sounds as well as it looks!

I built the 850 as a tow car so one of its missions was to collect this FD RX7 (its getting a T5 lump) That day towing the RX7 cruising on the motorway it returned 28MPG.
I also repainted the bumper top as someone drove into the corner in a car park.
I bought some budget coilovers to replace the tired R suspension, with a 3 year guarantee i didnt really care about how long they last i figured if they pop i will just put bilstein inserts in the bodies. Turns out they are pretty decent, a little harsh on daily roads but great when you set the car to go!! I set the fronts nice and low to match the ride height at the back. I had two lower bushing pins made to convert the rear dampers to fit the AWD.
Put a full set of new tyres on aswell, trying something different as wasnt sure how the AWD will wear tyres. Chose Nankang AS-1 pretty pleased with them, epic grip in the wet and overall very pleased with them and with a full set at £256!! Very happy with the price.
I have also done a couple of track days in the car (Running Canistos on track) the car is brilliant around the tarck, this really tested out the cheap suspension and it was a great couple of days. My housemate who is in the white supra said it was weird watching it in the corners as if it got out of shape from a slightly high entry speed it would just squat down when i floored and power its way out of the corners with the arse end pushing it out.
I also fitted some US spec indicators, well because they arent standard here.
Engine bay wise i have fitted a hard intake pipe and deleted the standard breather valve and fitted an oil catch tank. Along with a large K&N filter.
The car has finally been treated to a full detailing session aswell to get rid of lots of surface scratches and some of the haziness that the paint still had from me rushing to mop it when i first built it.
All in all the car is looking pretty and really reliable as a daily driver, time for more brakes annd more power me thinks.

Looking good dude, does this mean you'll be making more regular updates than 6 months apart now?

Did the Ranch ever make it back to Finland?

I have a big brake upgrade planned using Mitsubishi Evo Calipers and S60 disks. To do this i need to go back to correct volvo offset wheels and run spacers so effectively run offset of 23 on a FWD car... ;-)

This being said i got hold of a set of Tritons froma C70 and refurbished them. They were pretty rough but i finished them off volvo 427 grey barrels polished lips and a satin goldy bronze centre. I wanted an 80's touring car look. I think i acheived it, i also got round to giving the car a quick polish and fitting my pollen filter & housing from an S70.

I finally got round to a proper spring setup for the back. I bought the volvo Ohlins setup and cut a coil off as they are for a wagon.
Im very happy with the new look.Brakes soon then K24 upgrade....
All for now....

Ok so i had a week of work week before last so i thought i better update the build thread with updates, i then realised the new wheels weren't on here so i updated that too. I much prefer the Tritons over the jag wheels they give it more of an 80s touring car feel.

Anyway time spent on my week off fitting the following....

Parts are:
Ported K24 Turbo
Ported S60R manifold
Bosch Greens
TTV lightweight flywheel
3" Exhaust system with smaller silencer and up to a 4" Tailpipe
H Beams
Alloy full size intercooler Relocated to Front
External oil cooler
NA Radiator
044 Pump
External fuel swirl pot
AN lines for fuel and oil cooler
Custom billet fuel rail
Modified breather takeoffs on rocker cover.
S60R MLS headgasket
New gaskets throughout
New Rings & bearings

New fuel system throughout utilizing standard pump as lift pump to a 2litre catch tank. (I was getting fuel starvation on track at Pembrey due to fuel pump setup in the AWD fuel tank so swirl pot will solve this issue)

Pics to follow shortly.....

Right i forgot to mention i am also fitting a C70 convertible front subframe as they share all mountings with the AWD and have solid alloy bushes. I will also be modifying the centre brace to fit too.

A couple of random pics of the car parked outside work and pictures up to the end of day one.
