another drift 340 fixing it AFTER Buxton drift weekend
hello guys and gals while i havent got any were to do the blue volvo i have bought this back as a daily car, it was either that or scrapers for it so i had to, its just a pretty basic 1.4 with a welder, 2 inch lower, bucket seats. a mountney steering wheel, mk1/2 rear lights with there number plate lights, black head light bowls and grill surround all nicked from the blue one oops its rolling on some 14" bmw steels at the mo just needs some tax and insurance and ill will be put to service
plans are after the winter and when i regain a job are to swap to the 360 torque tube with a diesel engine
some 13x7 low et ally cats or if something nice comes up, deck it as much as possible
some trick home brew suspension/lock mods without falling foul of the IVA rules, rollcage, some lighter bits and other bits and bobs
i guess youll want to pictures after reading all that sorry for the crap quality

Re: another drift 340 sorry
after revisiting the 8 points system, i have had to change my plans slightly but will still be having lock mods i will just have to run stupid low et wheels to get clearance instead of widening the track width to keep 2 points for the axles, another point is would i get 2 for the gearbox all thought not sure if doing a swap to a torque tube will lose me them as it is part of the transmission i spouse and 5 for the body giving me nine in total, if i cant run the torque tube i guess ill have to mod a standard 340 prop to keep my 2 points for it but still take diesel torques more head aches at the mo thats were i stand

Re: another drift 340 sorry
a little bit of a upload
been to a local driveshaft place that also shares my second name haha http://wilsondriveshafts.co.uk/content/view/14/33/
talked to them about a uprated prop shaft for all 340s, my specs were 500nm torque limit, 2 piece, bolt on and they said yer sure when you want it bascilly
i took a spare prop with me to show them and some pictures that i fount of uprated props,
before they give me a full quote they want to see the ends that were inside the prop the metal bits you clamp down i did take pictures of them but they wasnt as good as seeing it in real life
so i will need to cut up a perfectly good prop
they then said for a prop with out the special adaptors would be around £240
that would then be plus the adapters taking it to around 300 for a guess
so you would just slide the adaptors onto the drive line then bolt up with prop like a normal car so you wouldnt have to take the slider of to remove the prop = less wear on the splines
i thought that was a decent price regards the spec only thing is you would have to weld a support for the centre bearing not much of a biggey but added complications
i hope that lot makes sense

If that price includes a centre bearing I think you might have a group buy on your hands mate.

the £240 does include the bearing and i didnt think of a group buy
Re: another drift 340 sorry
Yes indeed ! If it works without vibration and stuff I'll be up for it and I'm sure many others will be too

Re: another drift 340 sorry
worlds smallest update alert
ive had the usual 1.4 rough idle and running under slight throttle problem so i figured id check the idle solenoid first
and it had broke wasn't pulling the pin in so i pulled the brass out sheaf off it,put the jet back in then put it back on and idled and runs beautiful now
and i can now enjoy driving it apart for no power-steering my last 2 cars have had it so i think this one will have to get converted soon
