Hi Mate.
Lovely car, well saved. That tyre brings back a terrible memory.
Driving down the motorway in the middle of the night, doing 80 in a vauxhall viva
the back tyre blew out. I went up the road sideways for about 100 yards and managed to
get it on the hard shoulder. It scared the f_ _king shit out of me
I just got out of the car and stood beside it,shaking like an alcaholic busting for a drink.
Then something strange happened. Someone stopped to see if i was alright :D.
He said he had run over my tube about 100 yards back
Cheers Mark.

Hi TJ,

You are welcome... :)

Good, I also had the front speakers replaced for Pioneers (or certainly comparable ones).

At the Classic Car show last week, one of our members displayed this awesome Rover Metro GTi.

This is how I like conversions to look like:

http://www.metroownersclub.org/forum/vi ... 751#p10047

In fact talking to Daz at the show, we agreed that the Gti could have been developed further with the 1.8 litre MGF engine fitted etc.

His bodywork alterations are very subtle too.

This is the very latest on his awesome car.

http://www.metroownersclub.org/forum/vi ... =48&t=9196

and this is my 1990 GTi spi with my 1997 Mazda MX-6 just behind.

I spent the day cleaning them both and taking advantage of this amazing weather.... 8)

My GTi is simply uprated by a 2" bore exhaust and Pipercross air filter which has resulted in 107bhp and lots more torque. Motobuild of Hounslow did the work circa 1998.

So you can see I am a bit of a car nut ...

And then I drove the Mazda down to Brooklands and took these fotos.

Twice a day Concorde flew over my home and I really miss her noise and wonderful shape.

You are? I hadn't noticed ;)

I'm sure there was someone in Bedford years ago that put a lotus engine in the metro gti. Perhaps an elise motor? I dunno.. food for thought hehe

Today was spaghetti day ;)

Actually it's a lot easier than the pic makes it look. Think I've worked out a plan now, but it got cold so I gave up for today

T.J. wrote: 3. This fuel pump was apparently ok for the F7P engine. I don't think it's right for any efi motor, so I'll be replumbing the car for an in tank pump. Anyone wants to buy this pump, shout

I think you're right that that pump wouldn't run an F7P or any fuel injected car that relies on the electric pump for injection pressure, those pumps are low pressure feed pumps, the highest pressure option is about 8psi. They're also decent quality and about the same price as a cheap road car in line fuel injection pump so there's no excuse to try and botch a fuel injected engine with one! I think the regulator in the F7P fuel rail is about 35psi so the fuel pump needs to be able to pump higher than this.

TJ if you ever sell this LET ME KNOW FIRST!

Was the worst decision EVER to sell Trundle and I've wanted to buy it back since I sold it. I just keep missing out :(

With regards to the fuel pump - The facet pump was only the lifter pump to fill the swirl pot. There was an in-line EFI pump after the swirl pot to provide high fuel pressure for the F7P

Lol, will do Andy.. in the meantime try some anadin for the sore head ;)

See what you mean about the fuel pump.. makes more sense now. I'll probably go a different route and just put a walbro in the tank instead.

I'm guessing the swirlpot is no longer with the car? It made sense to run one for me. The lines to and from the tank would still remain low pressure and therefore could be reused - there was no reason to go anywhere near the tank at all, it would eliminate any chance of fuel surge, and also keeps the high pressure lines to a minimum.
