Hi T.J,
Here's some info from the Metro forum:
Lotus Engine in a Rover Metro GTi?
Elise used to run a K series engine before the toyota engine, so I would expect it's possible.
The Lotus engine is the same as the K Series 160vvc as used in the MGZR.
I thought someone stuck the VHPD K from the Exige in a Metro?
The early rover 'lotus' engines drop straight in.
There's been plenty of VHPD and similar high spec engines in Metro Gti's - have a gander on the metropower gallery.

You are? I hadn't noticed
I'm sure there was someone in Bedford years ago that put a lotus engine in the metro gti. Perhaps an elise motor? I dunno.. food for thought hehe

Was the worst decision EVER to sell Trundle and I've wanted to buy it back since I sold it. I just keep missing out
With regards to the fuel pump - The facet pump was only the lifter pump to fill the swirl pot. There was an in-line EFI pump after the swirl pot to provide high fuel pressure for the F7P

Hi again Andy and T.J
You may have wondered if there was a Trundle 1...
Well there was and 'Deja Vous' Andy, it suffered a Head Gasket failure (like T2 subsequently did) on the M25 and was taken back home by the AA in April 2001.
I then bought T2 to replace her.
T2 had a badly damaged driver's door, so I knocked the seller down £300, part of which I used to pay for a replacement door which I found at a breakers in North London. A paint sprayer then resprayed the whole offside and also lacquered it. That is why that side never fades in the sun unlike the rest of the car's original cellulose paintwork that does not have any lacquer applied. When I bought her the red was brown and it took a lot of elbow grease to get it back to scratch.
So a bit more T2 history ...
The fotos of T1 taken on May 6th 2001 also show T2.
The paint sprayer had her flatbedded away like you did for T2, then he fitted a new head gasket and away she went like new once more...
I will check the DVLA's website in a mo to see if KLR is still with us.
If not RIP T1 ... She was a very good car as indeed T2 still is .
Here's the fotos I took that day she left home.
I love the rear engined black Renault 5 Turbo that one of my neighbours had ...
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_5_Turbo
Looks as if KLR has gone to the " Scrapyard in the Sky " .... only a few months after I sold her !!! Come to think of it, I think that said head gasket did go again and maybe the engine was already damaged beyond repair so he scrapped her. What a sad fate. I nearly kept T2 when my silly neighbour, who bought her of me, then continued to drive her after topping the water up after the gasket blew. I would have taken the car of his hands and replaced the engine but it was all too much hassle in the end and that is how you Andy got to take T2 off his hands through me.

The date it is liable for more road tax (VED) or a SORN made, or a SORN runs out.

Can also mean "going out with a woman for a drink, then you accidentally get her pregnant. "Evoman wrote:What does "date of liabilty" acctually mean?

So if the date of liabilty is not a future date, its been "scrapped"?

Possibly. But it could just be resting and someone hasn't kept up with the paperwork. It could have been exported. More unlikely as time goes on.Evoman wrote:So if the date of liabilty is not a future date, its been "scrapped"?
More recent records might be more accurate, but in the past the DVLA files were a bit patchy.

It's interesting because my Fiesta was scrapped, and now there's NO record of it at all. But yes, this is probably the victim of another DVLA hole. And chances are it's scrapped (about 95% of all cars in the 80s are already scrapped, think of it that way).
