I really don't remember advertising it as breaking :p

But still in that case £30k for the grille, the doors are rare because they function to keep rain out and heat in so £15k for the pair ;)

It may seem steep but I promise it's not, it will be just enough for me to afford every 300 series I can find  Will check them now.

Forgot to say Tom you should update your thread on here.

Highly doubt the Golf will be ready for retro rides so will be in the Saab, hoping to have the 360 ready for next years gathering though.

My doors keep the weather out, just

I would happily update if any progress was made. Ive cut a couple holes, welded a couple plates and generally just been leaving it on axle stands then periodically putting it back together and driving it round the estate to keep things from seizing.

206 reaplaced bexs saxo
106 is going shortly and im using the 306 hdi for daily duties .... 55+mpg ftmfw!!

Still got the AX at my dads farm as well 8)

Assassin cat is just plain awesome ... though shes steadily ridding the neighbourhood of small birds
All that stalking and killing makes her sleepy

The passenger door is almost exactly the same as the OSF, its a 2"x 2" patch at the front bottom corner ..... at least they match now

The money saved on fuel can be put straight back into the 360

I still need to see the AX, when will it be out of hibernation?

Nooooo bad assassin, I'm the opposite, we have a pond in our garden and it has a fountain under a bush, we have all sorts of birds come and go from the hanging feeders including a one legged sparrow.

Haha, I knew you wanted to save weight but that's taking it a bit too far.

Right then, rear arch is pretty much welded up, just need to do a few more spots of weld and then a skim of filler and it will be done. The wet rag has minimised panel warping to a single low spot which may just need a tiny amount of filler to sort out. But all things considered I'm very happy, not got a photo of it yet.

Did some more work, haven't photographed the filler stage and the primer is on but no photograph yet. TThere was a small warp in the arch nothing some filler hasn't sorted and once sanded the shape is spot on.

Thanks Steve, the last coat of primer went on last night, so hopefully it will be painted in the next couple of days.

I will start restoring the SE alloys soon as the ATS Cups are going back on the golf and if I can sell that then they will go into storage until I can afford to run two cars then I will get a 300 series and fit them.

Some stuff happened!

The inner arch pieces my Dad fabricated have been tacked in along with the donor part from Thoddod's 340 vario.

The rear arch has been fillered, sanded, primered and painted... except the can ran out so it is very silvery. So it has been sanded back a bit and I'm just waiting for pay day to get more paint.

Tested the front wing and it is a tight fit but it fits, just needs some fettling by the door to line up perfectly (probably better than the factory as it is now  ) still need to fix the front part of the inner arch and then underseal it.

I ground some paint off the front valence and it isn't as bad as we thought it was.

Did a localised repair on the slam panel and primered it, the three welds are plug welds to join it to the inner arch properly.

Being sat in the garage for over a year it has gathered quite a bit of dust (photo of the roof)

Funny how the tops of the inner arch curve are rotted on that. Looking at mine, it was the rear third.

Oh wow yours was bad on the rear third. There was some rust there hence the donor piece from a 340 but it was salvageable but it was less work to weld in a new piece. I will get a photo of it and upload it when I have interwebs again. Swapped from Talktalk to BT on the 28th and they didn't tell me I wouldn't have internet until the 6th!

The other side is much worse but again it is the front that has completely disintegrated and the back third isn't so bad.
