Nice find, that confirms it! I wasn't aware of that. I suppose they used it to lower the CR in spite of using the high CR pistons?

Now the question is, how much the CR is originally with this set up.

Based on the model year it has to be 10:1, but I agree with You, that the double gasket suppose to lower the CR. In this case the CR is 9,2:1. This is the only CR that I know about, besides the 10:1. Please let me know, if You know any others.

I ran my 360 10:1 CR at 11psi on LH2.4 and matching EZK. It had no problems at all. The retarding of ignition timing by the knock sensor due to pre ignition, would have no effect on said pre ignition. I used an A cam which may have had a difference in stopping pre ignition. 95 octane fuel would cause preignition but it worked fine on 97. It was probably on the limit of what was capable, not by the fuel and ignition system but by the engine and camshaft in regard to pre ignition.

Factory engine management systems really are not as bad as people make them out to be. Motorsport ecus are used in motorsport for ease and added features. The factory boxes can be reprogrammed very easily and the equipment needed costs less than £50.

A late b200ft or b200fk bottom end would have lower compression pistons, stronger rods and piston oil squirters for cooling.

Sorry just re-read. Fit the turbo stuff and the lh2.4 and ezk system from the turbo engine. You can wire up a light that flashes when the ignition computer requests extra fuel to combat knock on all 4 cylinders. Mine ran at stock 3psi on 95 unleaded no bother at all

Thanks for the ton of info! My calculation may be unnecessary, but I want to be sure that the car will be so reliable that I can go anywhere.

If you let me have a few more questions about your high compression LH2.4 set up. How was the use of it? Do you use the It in extreme conditions (hot summer, or/and below freezing point)?

And what about the stock 3psi set up? I suppose It's an other car, but what's the point of the 3 psi pressure? Sry in advance if I had some pointless question. I just don't fully understand your last paragraph.

I didn't use it in extreme temperatures, range would have been 0 - 28 deg C ambient temp
At 3psi my set up worked using 95 RON
At 11psi my set up required 97 RON minimum

Hi there,

While I'm waiting for the body work to be started, I'm trying to figured out how to upgrade the brakes to match with the (hopefully) higher performance.

I'm planning to use some sort of ventillated discs in front. So I was looking for discs of the same size more or less as the stock one, and I found an intresting match. The AE86 corolla disc has mostly similar dimensions. The different bolt pattern would require some machine work, and the center circle as well, but It's not a big deal.

The real question is, that the toyota caliper might would be fit. I'm sure, that it'd need a console/spacer, but I don't know how its shape is different.

Do any of you have experience with the interchangeability?

After many theoretical work, I can finally present some practical step forward!

Today my 360 comes home from the body shop. :)
