I did fit the bushes and washers that came with, what did you fit didn't fit? I was a bit intrigued (as I was when fitting the Spax actually, but forgot to mention that too at the time) I felt the locating nipple in the bush was slightly undersized diametrically. But otherwise it all went together fine.Speedy88 wrote:Out of interest, when you fit Dai's rear adjustables did you also fit that rubber and washer combo that comes with them? I couldn't get mine to fit!

Re: Fake - F7R Motorsport Daily
Well if I remember rightly on the original rear shocks there's a rubber piece that both fills the hole in the strut top and allows the top of the shock to pass through the middle? You then have a bolt and washer on top of that.
(Bear with me, this is hard to put into words) Well with the kit I got I offered it up to the car and as far as I could see you're meant to remove this rubber bit (and the one at the bottom of the shock where it goes through the leaf plate) and replace with these ones. But that makes it metal-on-metal like so:
Top of shock thread
Bolt
Washer
Rubber spacer
Washer
Strut top (metal)
Washer
Rubber spacer
washer
Middle part of shock
Washer
Rubber spacer
Washer
Leaf spring plate
Washer
Rubber spacer
Washer
Bolt
Bottom of shock thread.
Just seems wrong to me. Metal on metal! Shoot me but I used the original rubber as it was still in good condition.

You have too many washers dude
OEM bush has a bush that fits into that hole (hang on, I'll try to find a picture, which I can't, so have something similar)
Where as the poly's are split so that they are possible to fit with the higher shore rating rubber stuff
Thing is, that bit that goes through the metal I thought was a bit of a rattle fit, however I've tried wiggling the damper body around and can't make it move, only rotate, so everything must be ok!

Someone must have forgotten tanker truck on Chris's driveway
Nice to hear that you found a cure to car!
General rule of sidewall height is that taller sidewall is more forgiving and of course less tall is much more snappier, with slow steering of 360 I would guess that bit taller than fashionable should be more enjoyable, with faster steering I guess your old tires might have been rather fun too, but this is just guessing, also general rule is not absolute rule, but it is general idea of things.
I would like to say that taller sidewall really fits to car, it kind of belongs there and with proper wheels tall sidewall will look great too, just browse some old rally pics and old pics of then new sporty model of cars, they look great even they are not running on rubber bands, but something beefier.
Here is example of rally b-group, if it was good for those monsters it should be good for tiny power of valver too

Ahhh cool! I've also got an annoying squeek coming from somewhere in the damper mounting so I think I'll make the swap this week sometime.
Re: Fake - F7R Motorsport Daily
What size tyres did you have on before? I still think you need to go a little wider somewhere around a 185/65/13 on a 5.5J wheel should be about right.Chris_C wrote:Wheels are 13's, with a 165/75 on.
A foot rest should be on your list of things to do. My legs hurt
Re: Fake - F7R Motorsport Daily
Having a look earlier, they are a 165/80, used to have a 195/50 15, have previously had 185/65 14s and 175/70 13s

I believe it's also partly to do with trying to fit in at the forthcoming VOC shows....

Shaving is for ladies, or those who have not misplaced their razor.
Let's see, last time I did shaved perhaps 4 months ago, might have been bit longer, so Chris, I'm in a club, let those with empty faces be on theirs

I'm not sure whats worse, the fact I'm getting beard abuse from people who arn't even certain I have a beard... (yeah, ok, it's almost Mac comparable atm) or the fact I just worked out I averaged 24.5MPG on the last tank...
