I think the problem might be that Renault have rebadged the S40 engines they use in the lagunas as F series engines. Basiclly all the volvo 440 engines fit, as does the F8Q Diesel engine (Which i have a bottom end sat here from) All the F3 series engines are Renaults 8 valve versions of the 440 engines so they fit and the F7P as used in clios and 19's fits, As does the F7R used in the clios and meganes. Although ideally you dont want to run the renault EDIS system it eats coil packs.
All the Engines that fit are labeled in the F series of engine. They all share the same gearboxes so they will bolt in at least. However there will be modification or all to fit.

Exhaust manifold looks the dogs mate! I really want a tubular off an R myself!

How did you get on with checking your sump btw? Lee mentioned to you the slight issue he found with mine didn't he?

whats the benefit of wrapping the manifold Adam ?

supposed to reduce heat leakage from exhaust into engine bay, hence making the engine run more efficiently due to reduced temperatures

Yeh by wrapping the exhaust as Jason said it keeps the heat from the exhaust within the pipes, hence reducing engine bay temp. The downpipe will get wrapped aswell.
Anyways more pics. Manifold roughly bolted on. Very pleased with the way it came out. First time i have wrapped an exhaust.

TBH at this moment in time i havent checked, i cannot see it being a major problem, the sump didnt touch the pump without a gasket on there, and so now with a gasket and sealant i shouldnt have a problem. I am also running a 1.7 turbo oil pump on mine.

Oooo they do they run a higher oil pressure than the F7P's standard item? Maybe food for thought in the future if it's a worthwhile upgrade :)

Good work Adam,

I have been thinking about popping a 16 v head onto my 2ltr bottom end but not made my mind up yet about what to do.

What are your plans for a clutch?

Clutch is sorted. Going to run a custom clutch. but the 16v head wont just bolt on to a volvo bottom end although thats in the pipeline as it is possible.

Right the engine is sat in the bay, hopefully will fire her up on Tuesday. As usual loads of pics to come. Whilst the engine was out, i painted the engine bay to tidy it up.

What kind of performance do you think it will give out?

Well here it is. I painted the engine bay while the engine was out and sorted all the wires from all the accesories i have added. Hopefully should fire her up later with no exhaust. I will also put some pics up of the polished inlet manifold too, it took me an ab age to do. Anyways enjoy.
