That's the cheapest I've ever seen turbos.

I PM'd You about cam belt tensioner spring..jtbo wrote:It was to be excepted that diff or some other driveline component will fail, you pushing something between 160-180hp with healthy amount of torque?
I don't remember if your diff is welded or not, but if not, then it can be those small gears in diff that give up in such situation. That diff does not like from wheel spinning without welding it. After welding it, there are more places that will fail, shaft between box and diff, gears of that shaft, transmission main shaft, happens also at 3rd gear that box case start to deform under stress and axles moves inside box, front of gearbox there is that clamp which fails if bolts of it become loose which they tend to do sometime, driveshafts can also fail, some VW Transporter joints were compatible if I don't remember wrong.
Easiest way to get something broken is spin wheels at high revs and hit small bump which suddenly increases grip, there is lot of inertia and even strong part can fail, remember weight adds to grip quite lot so when car body comes down or ground up, there is chance to get thing broken, but xtrmjks knows all this already, I believe
Have you managed to test tensioner spring yet?
Must be eaten by byte monster that lives inside these computer machines, PM has not arrivedxtrmjks wrote:I PM'd You about cam belt tensioner spring..
Diff was welded, I swapped it today for another one (welded again.), there was big chunk missing from ring gear and dent in diff cover plate.. Housing is o.k. Won't be doing that again!!
new exhaust is on, took ages to make 2.5" to clear propely..sound good!!
will post pics!!

Crazy man, hmm have I said that before? Anyway, Crazy manxtrmjks wrote:little update..last "niggles" been sorted and it's now running sweet.
I've added Whiteline ARB and race engine mounts. I'm taking it off road after PPC in the park, for 16v Turbo and M90, with 240 axle to go in..

I'm going for more common box+prop+axle set up..jtbo wrote:Crazy man, hmm have I said that before? Anyway, Crazy manxtrmjks wrote:little update..last "niggles" been sorted and it's now running sweet.

Will you mate diff+box or are you going to put box to front of car?
Mating box + diff provides bit more challenge, but then again it maintains part of 360 spirit tad better, that one bloke did such for his BMW V12 twin turbo thing, I believe it was. Fuse did post pics to general discussion quite some time ago, perhaps worth to take a peek as there were some progress pics.
