What else had you done to the engine to do that GrP A williams only revved to 8200........ formula renaults only rev to 7200, and they chuck rods at that RPM....

Revvin it that high isnt a problem. Let it rev, and keep it in one piece, thats the difficulty.
Also remember: the F7R's have longer strokes.
Renault megane maxi hit the 270 bhp @ 8400, don't know the rev-limit though.

It was my mate that built it as part of a uni project. I think he chopped a load of weight off the stock rods, the pistons were custom made iirc, J.E. Pistons. The rest was just really well balanced with lots of weight removed. I didn't use it much as it was shit to drive in traffic, but it seemed reliable when thrashed.
I'm sure there was a guy with a Williams engine that revved to 9800rpm, not sure what was in it though probably all steel.

You not got any rally contacts who can get mad stuff like that? I'd be vaguely interested to find out how much I can't afford one by.

ARP FTW!
Sorry to hear this man. I don't have the lurgie now so can lend a hand on Sunday if you want?
Sounds like the Valvo was a right nutter before it imploded! Level pegging with a Mugen DC2 is a madness!

Not quite level pegging like, but I got a healthy jump on him through the first two cogs, and it took him a while to start reeling me in
Sure, come over on Sunday that'd be cool, I was hoping to get it sorted REALLY early and go to the Hartlepool marina show at about midday.
ARE YOU UP FOR IT?!

Got a couple of saturdays coming up, shame I owe them to the company in return for fridays off, so won't get paid for them. Anyway I just want the engine, not the ghey car that went around it.

Ah. Well, perhaps I'd better stick the lottery on then. Or buy a supercharger.
