well the count down has begun, need to get it done and tested for july. giving me 10days ish. if the springs arent here by friday the originals are going on, then its off to get the osr sill welded and then mot'd albeit early.
got the diff cover off today, got bored and painted it red, going to get it on and filled tomorrow with one of macs diff gasket kits, which looks excellent.
How would one go about draining and filling the main gearbox? mainly the filling... i seem to remember reading somewhere that gtx magnatec 10w 40 is ideal for it, or am i imagining it...

bit of a bad day, exhaust came, but the t0ssers have sent the wrong one, i didnt have time to send it back so ive had to adapt it. it should eb alrright once i can get it to seal.
and found another fuel leak. from the same place as last time, looks like the hard fuel pipes, 'synflex' stuff has cracked/worn/rubbed etc. leaks fuel from most of the drain holes on the ns chassis rail. going to have to replace the lot just to be safe.

completly replaced all the fuel pipe on her now, not a sign of leakage anywhere! there are 2 braided fuel pipes just about teh torquetube and the gearbox mating area. they were piddling it out. but seen as id bought the pipe i used it and got it all done in an hour or so. exhaust is on, and bodged, gas tight ish, just needs a tap with a welder on a few points.
jobs a fish, missed a phone call from dai this evening as i was driving, hopefully it was spring related!!

took her out for a (il)legal test drive this morning, its good to get out in it again! love it. tho the friken centerbox is just too wrong to make anything good out of. the 'nose' the straight pipe that joins the down pipe is a foot too short, and the s bend at the back is just wrong dimensions. funkin not happy, goign to ahve to order another one and return that one. dont know if i will get it intime for the mot on monday aft though :(

Hey peeps
gona resurect this one to keep everything together!

So following the dimise of the B200k, i thought id try find myself a b230x. but after trawling scrap yards i could find nothing suitable that id be willing to use out of the box so to speak. So ive come by me a b200f for 100 pieces.

b200f
59k miles
from a 940 se
M reg
comes with manifolds etc basically everything out of the engine bay. but had a barstward of a time trying to find the ECU (is it under the steernig wheel?) gona get it to run on carbattooters for now then when i get some time im gona go back to the same car and strip wiring and ecu out of it and as much wiring as possible, unless anyone knows of a wiring loom any where?!

So questions,
does it use the same clutch as the b200k?
any one got a wiring loom for the injections system?
whats the best way to lift an engine out without the head on it and therefore no lifting points?

im sure ill think of somthing else!

Volvo love putting ECU's in the inner wings , i.e. base of A pillar, and in front of the gear stick!

Good luck bud

Yeah, 940 ECU's are in the drivers side kick panel, take out the sill trim and trim infront of that and look up and there you have them...

EDIT: You got room for a donor car? http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=92930

unfortunately dad might hurt me if i parked another car on the drive!
im picking the engine up tomorrow, ill see if i can raid the 940 for its wiring and ecu now i know where it is.

did any of the 400 series come with LH-2.4? im hoping the wiring may be easily accessible.

So in my trawls today i found
an imacculate 240 in a scrap yard. with a b19a
4x940 all under 150k miles, 3 turbos
2x740 imacculate again

al taken in the scrappage scheme, all driven on site with tax and mot.   :x :x

now i know where the ECU is i should be able to find it and remove as much as i can.
