Re: Anjo's Project Car: 1986 340GT Special, B14Turbo
hehe, slightly offtopic but very funny:
from this:
it WAS a smily face with a cooking hat on, before it leaked out... the vice-president of the V3C was present when we did that, and he didn't like it very much , i painted the hood flat black a year ago and it actually looked like shit from the day i painted it.
to this:
me and Ovlov3.6L had some fun playing an oldskool game om my hood
to this:
it says "drama kap" translated this is disaster hood
but, i didn't want to drive in that any longer, so i got myself another hood and painted it high gloss black:
this evening i mounted the new hood and now, the car is restored in it's glory and i continue driving it and liking it:
allright, let's go ontopic:
intercoolerparts arrived today
and as impacient as i was, this evening i went to test fit them right away:
only little steel cutting recuiered, they allready align!
the other side, the T-piece with the BOV is tyripped on to show where it will go, i do need to cut that pipe in half and make flanges on it.
but, lazy as i was i intended on using the original carb lobster from a gtt carb.
i'm going back to the shed in half an hour getting that last piece of pipe to the carb mapped out and placing another order tonight, i'm not letting one piece ruening the looks of my badass setup .

Re: Anjo's Project Car: 1986 340GT Special, B14Turbo
finished engine:
dropped it in:
started "hosing" the thing up. modified frontplate, made brackets for oil cooler, intercooler. did some pre-fitting of heater hoses, IC hoses, vacuum hoses etc.. all looking fine, waiting for final install after my holiday
only a few parts still have to be fabricated, shouldn't be too much hours getting it on the road, now only the time for it
made a goal though, wanna give it a 3rd gear full throttle drift at the end of august.

Re: Anjo's Project Car: 1986 340GT Special, B14Turbo
mwah, not building a new car. in a few years he will get a full body restauration even though there are only 4 rust spots on the entire car. he's hard as nails and i want to keep him like that, still want to enjoy the car after 20+ years, he'll get tax-free at 2012 so won't cost me much more than fuel and maintenance after that.
still big doubts about the colors though, maybe a flip-flop, a white/black two-tone or something else. well i still have some time to think about it.
still have a shitload of upgrades to develop and construct after this stage 1 is complete.

Re: Anjo's Project Car: 1986 340GT Special, B14Turbo
when i spend a few hours of work trying to make something stupid that nobody will ever see again untill the car gets torn apart look darn good, do you actually think i'm gona ruin all that f*ckin hard work with a cheapass- unproffesional paintjob and paintsceme? thinks like that are exactly the reason i don't talk about that stuff in my v3c topic, because the thread will get fucked up with stupid cheap ideas anyway , shame this topic has to go the same way...vØlvØfreak wrote:something like this..:
@ kaos, don't worry still loads of water between our cars, and i bet that the line of the two tone won't match so they will be different anyway besides, 80% chance it's gonna turn out a flip flop, and offcourse bodykitted .
Re: Anjo's Project Car: 1986 340GT Special, B14Turbo
lol man, I think you should get a red-to-black fade from red at the rear to black at the front. Fire engine red to be exact.

As you have gone with white wheels what about using an r sport style stripe like the Rallycross car to set the colour partition? Keep with the motorsport theme....
Things looking sweet though mate.

Re: Anjo's Project Car: 1986 340GT Special, B14Turbo
last update for a while, tomorrow night i'm off to greece with a couple of mates for the next 2 weeks
but i also got myself into some aluminium welding for modification on the intercooler pipework. and got a second temporary project, a 360 GLE 2.0i saloon with some running problems. also a b14.4e + renix conversion for a '78 343 blue special waiting. enough to keep me busy when i get back.

Re: Anjo's Project Car: 1986 340GT Special, B14Turbo
so now it's slowly coming together
refitted windshield, definatly a job i won't do alone next time..
fixed oil cooler hoses:
Turbo > FMIC with very special stainless steel hose clamps:
fitted late mk3 wiper motor because it looks better :
did little work on interior, placing sound deandening, heater control etc..
fitted headlights:
brandnew doorrubber:
and brandnew boot rubber
next mod: GLT headlining
including "lovehandles" for rear passengers :
the glt headlining came out a 5drs model, had to modify it slightly to fit a 3dr and the rear handles just bolted into place
only part of the glt headlining that i'm missing are the black B-style covers, however finding those in the glt color will be extremely difficult since not many 3dr glt didn't have solid rear windows... i won't convert the rear windows to pop-out windows because the audio installation will constantly blow the hinges, been there-done that with my red car.
i also worked a bit more on the engine coolant system is almost done
at the moment i am fabricating a couple of stainless steel brackets, for the throtthle cable support and the fuel pressure regulator was planning on fabricating some heat-shields but those plans are suspended for now because i think heatwrapping the downpipe will look better and take away enough heat.. if it doesn't turn out enough i can allways fabricate those heatshields
the custom work is allmost done with those brackets, need to modify 2 ic pipes too and then it's done. rest is fully hosing up the engine and making a new engine-bay loom + modifying the interior loom and then rebuilding the car.
i only have time in the weekends and in the evenings but it should be on the road withing 2 weeks!!
