The front part of the floors now ready to accept seats. Im quite happy with the finish.

I suppose the car is quite clean, but there are a good few bits of rust here and there, the bonnet's and wings have a few brush painted touch ups on them and the driver's door has a badly repaired hole in it.

Image

Not that Im trying to make my car sound bad, I know its in good shape, but in the words of volvosneverdie: ".............don't trust pictures when you buy 300's!"
Almost seems like the car is getting worse, It came from the south of England, so after nearly 2 years up here There seems to be a brown rash coming out all over the place. The front and rear valance are held together by the paint.

The wheels are 100+! They feature 2 stud patterns.
My mate bought them 5 years ago for his Sunny, later painted them white, he then put them on his Pulsar a few months back, then he took the pulsar off the road for a full restoration (more rust than he can bare) so I gave him a set of Nissan alloy 4 pots (originally intended for the Volvo) and he gave me the wheels! What can I say nice guy!

I know what you mean dude, and it isnt even winter yet.
Spotting new/spreading rust is always a far more sour game on a clean looking car.
Mines scruffy enough that you dont really notice.

When I get my poly bushes for the back, that'll be my chance to try and get rid of the rust.

Stand back and admire from a distance :D

The back end is lifting up a little, must be all that weight it's lost!

Ah, still not got that sticker yet!

Anyway hopefully I'll be back out on the road in this next week, had a few days off work, Including a weekend!

Got the manifolds back on today with a new gasket and Loctite gasket sealer, still got the carb to go back on and a side exit exhaust using only the original middle box, hope its not too loud but atleast its competing with a blitz nurspec so shouldnt annoy the neigbours too much.

Finally had a good crack at sorting out the paintwork on the car too after I was driven into well over a year ago, quite happy with the results, considering it was me that was doing the work!

Bare metal and lovely Hamerite Krust. I use it on everything!

after loads of filling ans sanding, its still not right but i'll have to do.

Carplan "white 18" seems to be a reasonable match.

Good work on the body there man. Looks very nice.

Ive said it before, and I'll say it again: white cars flipping rock to flip. Flipping right, motherflippers.

Love this car.

The camera does make this car look better than it really is, white over exposes so easyly and covers uf faults.
I hope the paint stays that way though. I used zinc primer this time, so I hope I dont see rust coming through the first time is outside and in the rain. Just have to wait and see.

After a few days of feeling a bit dizzy and struck down with a cold I finaly got back to my shed and finnished dodgy exhaust no. 3

Here it is

Image

I think the plan is to get this replaced in the future with a proper stainless system, using this as a template, hopefully it'll do for now and not leak too much

Image

Looks a lot closer to the fuel lines than it actualy is.

I Think the mister two seats are a really good cheap modifacation from the standards and almost look like griffo's escort recaro's in a 340, i'd like to try and do that but with having a 3 door they would have to recline and give access to the back seats, good work.
are they different seats in the last pic?. Cobra's suit nicer still, white 340's look great

Hi, I just bought a big tub of crust but, in a few years when I finaly get that MG midget  or decide to restore my jap import I'll get some of that granvil stuff.

On the seats, I was really lucky I just had the MR2 ones lying around, so decided to fit them, it was quite easy in terms of fabrication but a bit fiddly getting them in, they were great and could even have been a "period mod" due to the fact that the car the came from was a G reg!
Only draw back with them was the way Id done it meant that they couldnt slide back very far, lucky Im only about 5'-8"! Oh, and Im pretty sure the seats recline, there was storage space behind them in the MR2.

The cobra's almost have a comedy look to them. It must look funny to the car behind as all you can see is the outline of 2 big bucket seats in a car that most people dont think of as a sports car.

The exhaust was far too loud, that centre box is quite anti social, loads of rasping so I got a bung off ebay.

Image

This has been great, sounds a bit funny with the throttle wide open, loads of shhhhhh! noise but atleast I can take the car home and generaly drive it about with out people looking at me with disgust, Id recomend these to anyone with the same problem, however I do want more bass out my exhaust so I thing long term I want a custom Stainless system, atleast now I have a template though.
