Looks very nice dude.
White 300s are always good news. Looks great on the white wheels too!
Youre obviously giving it a lot of car and attention like.
You having good fun with it so far?

Cant wait to drive it again.
Taking the bumpers off meant I couldn't for the last week but I think I'll bring it home tomorrow night
Im most surprised by the K&N, I haven't touched anything on the carb. Just made up an adapter plate, fitted the filter and started the car! The Performance is fine so far. It started better too!
Oh, and I'll take the blue plastic off the filter tomorrow too.

Started BETTER?
wow.
Maybe we should stockpile them at that price then!
i knew they sounded a bit meatier, but i didnt realise they made THAT much difference.

Everyone that's seen it has remarked that it is very clean and rust free for a 20 year old.
I should hope so though because it cost double the price of my daily driver! I does have a few patches that have been touched up by the previous owner, Glasgow Jim, who was a member on here, and there are some light dents on the n/s rear quarter, so I dont feel like Im wrecking a classic.
Now to the adapter plate .
I used a sheet of very thin aluminium, 2mm at most.
Firstly I cut it to the same outside shape as the K&N filter, Then used the gasket from below the standard box as the outline for the area needing to be cut out.
Once the area was cut out I marked the bolt holes, again using the gasket as a template.
I also drilled holes in my plate to line up with the screws on the K&N. This allowed me to attach my plate to it.
Some filing needed to be done to the base plate of the K&N as the hole is circular.
I'll get some photos, but I'll warn you now its not neat, but it dosen't leak and you cant see it when its on.

OK, and the boot latch.
Im done with the painting for now though. Its time I moved on to more serious issues like the clutch.
Atleast I dont have loads of rust to worry about though.

I like that, and I normally don't like those grills. Nice effort

Thanks for the comments. The Paint I used on the bumpers is called plasbak, made by a company called Concept. I got it at my local paint supplies shop for about £5.

Re: White 340 Mod thread!!!! Some photos
Time for a thread revival. Im not the most advanced of mechanics but since these pics this car has had:
A new clutch
New back box
EBC ultimax brake pads, over a year of use and still 10mm depth of material left
Raid Steering wheel and gaffatape gearknob off a celica
Classic swede 3" lowering springs and KYB shocks from Bilbo
40mm lowering blocks from 340GLT
Full set of classicswede polybushes for the front suspension
13x 5.5 ronal alloys
15x5.5 volvo alloys
Cobra Monaco S bucket seats on original subframes
The car was great on its first track day but I wanted to see what I could do to improve it. After a bit of discussion on the causes of my under steer it was reckoned to be my skinny, high sidewall 13" alloys that were to blame. Ive just got a set of 15x7s with nearly new Toyo Proxes T1-Rs, not tryed them yet.
Ive taken some action on the weight saving front. Heres the results.
Lot of heat gun and scraping
Got to try and make it look nice
I'll get pic of the top coat once its dry, then the seats can go back in!
