Power steering on a 1.4?
This is probably a noob question, but did the 1.4's ever come with power steering? I reckon Mrs BB's going to be asking me to convert hers so I thought I may as well ask the question now so I'm prepared when it happens!
sig will go here when I think of one.....
It's been done, using the rack and lower column off a pas 360. Only problem (I think, I havn't done it, although I will do on my 1.4 before it's back on the road) is getting a double crank pulley, either need to have one machined, or I think I managed to find a renault 5 that had it...
I need the rack and lower column, I've got the rest indoors, but had issues getting those off my GLT when I scrapped it. (Steve, you had any joy??)

I have a 1.4 CVT 340 with PAS, fitted when it was nearly new. Here is the invoice........ gkad I wasn't paying!

Everything else seems to have been covered, so good luck. I've yet to see what the PAS is actually like in the CVT, as I'm hoping it is as well balanced as the 360 setup, as it's not too light and disconnected, but gives enough assistance to make life easier.

PM sent. Think it may be a bit rich for me though.
I was thinking along the lines of a Renault 5 pump and pulley, it was more a case of me not being able to remember if the 1.7's came with a power rack or not. I see so few of these cars now that it's difficult to remember.
The bit about the 360 rack is interesting, though. I should be able to lay my hands on one of those fairly easily.
