I've got KYB Gas-A-Justs on the back of mine. Even with crappy fronts they've improved the way the car handles (not quite as wallowy). And they're nice and cheap too!

The spax are £130 a pair. They are basicaly the only performance damper available at the moment for the 300 series.

If you are only after an improvent over what you have then a cheap set of gas dampers is the way to go. If you want more form the car then the spax are the way to go.

Hopefully if it works I will be doing a budget conversion for the front to improve things :D

£45 for a pair of rear dampers sounds ok. That's about the same as I paid for the KYBs IIRC.

As an aside, I've got an new pair of Monroes somewhere if someone wants them cheap.

Konis produce gas shocks specified for the Alfa Romeo Giulia, but apparently will fit the 300 just fine.

Part No. 80-1781 for the red ones - these are designed with a bit more comfort in mind

Part No. 80-1781S For the more agressive yellow sport ones.

Cheapest I found was Europerformance.co.uk

At just over 130 quid including delivery.

I would say Monroes are the better make, but if you can get gas struts of any sort, they'll be better than their equivalent oil ones.

Had a word with Andy, mine must be oil as they didn't spring open when out, i.e. they didn't have to be held shut whilst putting them in.

They do feel really tight through corners though ;)
