Electronic power steering progress.
Re: Electronic power steering progress.
A bit more progress...
... to keep Honey smiling. Actually, I had a bit more work than expected whilst fitting the column switch mounting back correctly. I had to use a plastic spacer (chopped-off bit of cable-tie) of the right width to get spacings right for the horn switch mechanism (brushes and slip rings) to fit together correctly without excessive friction and/or to work at all!

A bit of bathwater being used to re-shape the underdash trim panel...
... hopefully to get a good-enough fit.

Re: Electronic power steering progress.
I have indicated how the wiring goes from the battery via a fuse, as shown lower down.
P.S. Must check the air vents are working fine with all the remoulding done to the ducting by use of a borrowed heat gun.
P.P.S. Must also put this stuff on my own website, attention to which has been lacking lately, sorry!!
All else seems to be fine and the trim parts have been refitted but I must remember to refit the clip to the brake servo vacuum hose.
The setup still seems to work fine so attention will turn towards the rear, nearside spring which seems a bit saggy, as well as the front seat belts which don't retract very well. P.S. Re: Electronic power steering progress.
I have updated the blog with this year's progress (or lack thereof) and a few more pictures at the usual link: http://jbc.me.uk or more specifically here:

I'd be hinterested if anyone else pursues the Easysteer electronic power steering option, since Rick seems to have it pretty well sorted ;-0.

Re: Electronic power steering progress.
A bit of strategic progress.... Red Ness has gone to the welder.... but the welder has moved to the countryside so 4-mile walk to the nearest village allowed for some artistic endeavours....

Re: Electronic power steering progress.
Hello again. Driving again and have found that the EPS is fine on the roads with light uniform steering at all angles of the wheel. It doesn't have the same bounce-back of the 360 PS and you can almost feel that it needs little nudges at speed. A good result??

Finally came clean with the insurance company and they checked with their underwriter who said it didn't count as a modification and therefore premium unaffected, as long as they have a note of it!
