I decided that the cups werent up to much on the doner bits i bought and i know the ones on the car are on there way out so i rang up volvo to see if they are available and they are but are really expensive for what they are £60 the pair but i can justify spending that as finding gud doner ones is a real PITA anyway piccies!!!
Cheers Adam
Oh i now have all bits prepared ready to bolt back together then bolt back onto the car!!!

Look no rust!!!

Yeh i found some washers and was going to do that but the rust was so bad the welder was pulling it out and doing shit welds so i figure this way it will be solid!!!

Right been busy this weekend getting the front end together and fitting all the poly bushes. All parts have been replaced or reconned, all bolts are new. Job isnt too bad but goes a hell of a lot slower when you break one of the main bolts off flush with the chassis legs!!!!

So it had to be drilled and rethreaded.
Am pleased with the result though. Well worth upgrading to the poly bushes guys!! As soon as i drove out of the garage i could tell a change, the back is a bit more happy now though as the front is much much tighter.
The strengthening seems to work too abnd i am more than happy with the results!!! Just the shocks and springs themselves to do now!!!
Ever since the ice incident the pass wishbone has been bent and from the pics you can see the full extent of the damage and i must admit the paly in the bushes is mad and quite scary actually side to side movement was 2-3"s!!!!
Anyways pics
Cheers Adam

Oval hole?????

Dents????

You can see the uneven tension on the bushes here!!!

Bent wishbone!!

Top job that man and Dai has certainly done an excellent job developing these parts. I really should look at doing the 360 one day, but it felt sooo much better than my old 360 to drive due to the lower mileage that I haven't worried yet.

Right, I'm off to PC world then

Indeed, when we were following you back in the fog that 1.4 did a mighty good job, and when you picked me up from the station I was very impressed

I've not had much experience of the 1.4 until recently, but I must say that thing shifted! Remember the surprised and annoyed car following us that morning you picked me up Adam going to Stondon? They were trying hard to keep up as well!

Adam kindly helped me pull another 531 yesterday, and we took the mean machine to the scrap yard. It's amazingly tight now considering the springs and shocks are both stock and old!
I definitely have some work to do there...
cheers

The crossmember looks good in the flesh after a good coat of paint.
All that is needed now is a set of springs and shocks
