Can anyone suggest where I can put car stands where I change the rear suspension. Is there specific beam or pint that is safe that is not the jacking point?

Hmm, how about some wooden blocks on a good chassis rail? Other than that, wooden blocks on the edge of a sill (providing your sills are in good nick. That or drop the lot on a pile of tyres.

Axle stands with a block of wood just by the front mounting to the leaf springs just next to it towards front of the car on the chassis rails.

Rear jacking points would be the proper place, but obviously depend on condition. The rear beam near the jacking points that have the exhaust ties for the 340 are quite strong, wood + rubber or heavy spongy material would be good to even out the force. All the beams are pretty thin. I'd like to get some of the heavy sponge aswell, but I've more of less rebuilt my jacking points + sills now.
