Top of strut - Repair or replace

Post by kelvingenders » 08 Jul 2010 09:53 am

Can anyone give me some advice, I've just removed the strut from my 360GLT and noticed that the the part at the top of the spring (solid piece of metal with three holes are) is split. Should I get this welded or can I just get a replacement for the top of the strut? Any ideas

Sorry I thought your were talking about the spring cap, do you mean the bush casing is split, that is much rarer although the bush itself can become separated or split. 2nd hand seems the be the main solution, but I have heard of using some sort of aftermarket solid rally joint (rose joint?).
