Climb under the back of the car, above the gearbox you'll see where the handbrake cable splits into two. On that is a bolt that sticks out at a 30 degree angle. Should be a 13, just tighten that up until it naturally springs back against the car floor.

Hi guys.

Can you show me a picture of how the handbrake cable on 340 is attached to the suspension beam next to a wheel?
I see a bracket but only the most narrow part of the cable's shell fits into it, making it impossible to fit a clip anywhere near.
Maybe i should bend a bracket a little to enlarge the hole so the metal part of the cable's shell fits inside and i could fit a clip on it?

Restoring a handbrake system which was removed by previous owner and broke my head already around that place without a reference.

i can't find the place anywhere for the the clip #5 from the pic.

Also, does the part #4 from the pic above just hangs on the suspension beam? It seems to fit but because it's so flimsy im not very sure i put that thing right.

A couple of points and pics to help:

Part "4", The cable support wires should be sprung into holes in the front and rear of that support beam, I'll sort a pic out later.

End of cable should look something like this assembled:

hey man, long time not hear from you.. on the circumstances of the matter it's a dumb question.. :D i got from scrapyard..hey man..how to adjust the hand brake cable..from haynes manual, it said to before adjusting the nut from below the car, i need to pull the hand brake up to 7 notches, the i tighten the nut until the wheel wont turn, but before that, i need to press the brake several times for the brake to self adjust.. after i press it.. and tighten the nut, the wheel still spining..

Hello again, have you made sure that where the lever goes through the brake back-plate, the lever is not jammed with rust since this is a very common place for rust to mess-up the brakes...

... something like this, but this is from a 340, although the 360 is similar.

Hi, yes..i double check the placement of the self adjust lever mechanism, it's wicked engineering.. actually before I press the brake, I can remove the drum in and out easily.. but after I press the brake padel several times, the lever starts doing it's job, turning the gear and pushing the brake shoe wider..(i'm doing it with the brake drum removed)..but I can't put back the brake drum..which meant it's working..but if I redo again the process with the drum in place..the wheel still spinning..

Zack - if the cable you need is the "early" front type that adjusts at the lever (rather than under the car) then try :-

http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/br ... brake/530/

They are based in Germany and supply both OE and aftermarket parts - I've used them many times and always had really good service.

Hi mac, thanks for sharing the page..i suppose I won't need to shop one, I have got it from scrapyard, and already installed it. I think I have check again, the placement of brake shoes and spring..maybe I wrongly positioned them..i've replaced the wheel cylinder pump..lucas brand.
