Questions about Wheel Fitment

Post by Becca May » 31 Oct 2010 03:42 pm

Hi everyone :) firstly I apologise if this has been covered before but I couldn't find anything on the search..

Basically i'm just wondering a few things. I know Volkswagen (good because i've owned about 3457880 of them) and Vauxhall (good because the best friend owns a crazily fast Corsa) are the same stud pattern. But what I was thinking was, are there any issues with offsets when swapping wheels from these cars?
I know for the dubs people use Vaux steelies (ET37) for banding because the offset allows for more width of dish, but I don't have a clue regards to Volvos.

I'm mainly wondering because I might be whacking some Vauxhall Fanblades on my Volvo for now. They're ET49 and pretty sure 6J wide.

Cheers in advance 340pw

Anything VW 4x100 is fine, just be prepared to use spacers on the front

Thanking you :) so to answer my question, if VW wheels require spacers, then Vauxhall wheels definitely will :( bums...

I've never needed spacers with any 30-40ET wheels, though I think ET49 may cause a bit of rubbing, perhaps on the rear springs and maybe on lock at the front. Best thing to do is give it a try, I expect SRI fanblades would look awesome.

LOLZ. Spigot rings are probably a good idea but I've never bothered with them. Think there used to be a lot on ebay in common size combinations.
