Re: what shocks stiff the rear of my 340
what do you want to get out of the carr?
random stiffness, the landrover front shocks will do but a 300 will handle a lot better if you choose a proper suspension based on the weight / balance of a 300 than for those landrover dampers that are designed for a 2ton weighing ATV.
if you really fancy proper cornering, sporty style comfort (yes comfort, nut just bumping around everywhere you go!) and stiffness at the same time; i'd suggest Koni Yellow all around. a good alternative to these are the adjustable dampers that Dai (classicswede) on this forum sells.

I have front defender dampers on the back of mine. The rubber mountings make an annoying squeeking sound lol but they do the job. Mightaswell get some ajustables off Dai (classicswede) if you can afford them
edit: mine's a 360 btw

I've got Dai's units on mine. Very good. Easy adjustability for pretty soft (normal road use) and wind them up hard for track stuff. Just turn a dial. Or, tune it to what ever you like and leave it. Really easy to set up.
Like Anjo said, the landy shocks stiffen stuff up, but "over damp" the car, due to them being deigned for 2 tonne of weight. Cheap, but not the best. Critical damping is what you need, there was a post on here awhile ago explaining critical damping etc with a graph of comparison, not sure where it is though. With adjustables, either spax or Dai's ones, you can get more efficient damping, tunable, and more user friendly ride.
