near side front wheel moves when braking (its not wheel bearing as the wheel doesnt move from side to side) checked the trailing arms thats tight

Does it move or are you just getting tramline? (Pulls to left or right). It's a common problem with wide wheels, the only sure way to know is to fit a standard sized rim and go for a test drive

when braking the wheel moves back and forth in the arch itself as if the strut moves

Could be, or wheel bearing. Jack the car up and wobble the wheel, see where the movement is going to and where it stops. First thing to check is the balljoint as evo said - if nothing is moving in this area but the wheel is it's likely a wheel bearing problem.

Is the top mount intact? Are the strut bolts done up tight, as well as the damper nut? Otherwise it'll most likely be whats been previously said. Wheel bearing or ball joint. Just waggle everything!

if its the wheelbearing it'll also make a lovely rubbling noise. But the bearing might not the only source.

This realistically could be anything, there are a lot of moving parts down there.

My money is on the cotton reel bush between the wishbone and the subframe, that can let a lot of things get out of alignment, but the best way is to take the strut off and have a wiggle of everything.

Get a bar in your suspension components, feel for any excessive movement. Also shake wheel from 3/9o'clock position, if there's excessive movement could be top mount/wheel bearing. Get someone to push the brakes while you do it, if it stops then it'll be your wheel bearing, also check all steering linkages for damage etc.
