Brakes??

Post by sammysideways » 06 Jun 2011 11:30 am

Hello

Just picked up my volvo 360 that was super cheap. its also really mint for a car registered in 1983!
One problem ive got is car has no/vertally no brakes, any common faults? going to try bleeding it at the weekend but if theres air getting in i pressume theres a leak somewhere?
Also i want to upgrade the brakes so i can use them on track, whats the best options?

Start with fluid change. If it doesn't help you might have seized cylinders amongst other things.

If you have a hard brake pedal the master cylinder is probably ok. Put in new rear wheel cylinders, pretty cheap and fairly consumable. Work the fronts in and out with a G-clamp and brake application, if that doesn't free them you need to re-build with new seals, new callipers about £50 each.
