400 series alloys on a 300

Post by RandomHero » 21 Jun 2005 07:58 pm

I was wondering if someone has ever seen these alloys on a 300? I think they look real good. If i have a car again i may go out and look for rims like these :-)

I saw a set on Ebay, very cheap, like £1 and they never sold, I was partially tempted, though personally they are a bit plain and too much like the stock GLT rims of the Mk3 era. Not seen them on a 300 though. There are lots of 400 styles to choose from, which is nice!

still reckon the best set of alloys i have seen on a 360 are foggys - which also come off a 440 IIRC

The rims under foggy's car come from the newer type 400. Those are the ones that are still driving around. So that's probably why you won't find them a lot. I see a 440 with those rims on the way to the trainstation every day.

But believe me, when the 400 series start to rust and become older then they will be left on scrapyards queit fast. There would be some nice rims available then.

Thats already the case, I regularly see late 400s in scrapyards.. not usually that rusty, more likely gearbox/clutch problems
