Sway bar - removal

Post by kelvingenders » 14 Oct 2012 04:33 am

Just wondering what may happen to the stability of the car if you take the sway bar off and link rods that you attach to the struts. I only use this car for town driving and never go too fast. any ideas :360:

Pass. I guess they're there for stability on cornering and you never know when you're going to have to do an emergency stop/swerve and coupled with snow / ice, etc, every bit of stability helps.... anyhow, its a no-brainer, but your insurer probably ought to know first as it would count as a modification in their eyes ;-

Ive had he one on mine off for a while after bending the x-member that holds it

It was very wierd to drive, the roll of the front of the car seemed to take some of the steering force away when you started turning. All the bumps seemed much worse and would affect each side of the car much more individually.

I can't think of a good reason to remove it. The older 360 or 340 style is much better IMO rather than the thin drop links that mount to the strut like on late 360's
