Post by OJ » 19 May 2006 12:32 pm

Does anybody know if it exist lowering springs to 340/360 that are approved by the german Tüv?

I'd like yo lower my 340, but the norwegian police ain't very happy about things that are not approved

I can supply the spax springs that are german tuv approved but they only offer 40mm lovering from std and one poundage rating.
How are they going to check that the springs are approved as in - If you order a nice ste of approved Spax and some how the wrong ones get sent? would that work?

They probably can't see if it is the correct set of springs, but I have to have the car checked by an authorized garage to check that the suspension is ok , and I don't think they will notice if "wrong" springs is mounted.
The police demand to se the car later with the approval papers from Tüv. they just check that the papers says volvo 300 and Tüv, then it is ok

Which 300 are those springs for is it for 340 with b14 or 360 with b200, and how much do they cost?

The springs are designed for both 340 and 360 and cost £80 from spax. The spings I have made are made as 1 off's to requirment and cost £50.

The Norwegian police / (biltilsyn) freaks out about modifications that are not TUV approved. Also every change from the car's original stand should be rapported and checked to legally use the car on the road. That also includes rims with other dimensions than the standard.

Personally i give a f#ck :p All my lights/windows are tinted (black as the night), the rims is way to big, and tomorrow i will fit NOT-TUV approved springs too....

If they stop me on a technical control they will take my license plates, and i will have to walk home..

The way Potato-Norway handles those things is silly, and in the latest 2 years they have freaked totally about those things..

I bought my springs from www.eyecandyracing.no , and they costed about 1500 NOK.

Good luck with lowering your car.

BTW I was on holiday in Stockholm a couple of years ago and they were playing Eamon's song - F*ck it (I Don't Want You Back) on the radio with all the swearing still there, so its probably a cultural difference :D

From all the people I met over the world, the English are the only one's who can say f*ck that much in one sentence. I once heard someone say: f*ck you, you f*cking f*ck.

Yeah, tis true Japper, but it is only in the past 10-15 years that it has become acceptable (I can't think of a better word than that). 10 years ago, you wouldn't have heard it on TV, and the some of the older generations still get stressy about its use.

But I swear alot... although I'm not sure why, and do find it hard to not now, might try stopping one day ;) and it was me who got Andy to filter it... I don't find it appropriate for forums uncensored, as its still a public place. I'm used to typing *'s in whenever I want to say it now ;)
