Right, stupid noob question #1:
What size are the wheel nuts on the 360 supposed to be?
The wheel wrench which came with the car was stored inside a pair of piss soaked jeans in the boot and has gone horribly rusty, so I've been trying to use a 20mm socket to undo the wheel nuts, but it sometimes slips and is starting to round off the heads. It's not a flat sided socket, so this could be the problem, but I just thought I'd check that the nuts aren't a weird size before I go and buy a new socket.
Cheers.

Yeh, a 19mm socket would fit, but we had to really beat it on and it seemed to make a mess of the nut.

It should be 19, the problem you're having is probably down to damaging the heads with the 20! Go to your local Halfords and buy one of their extending wheelbraces, they are fantastic (and they use a standard 1/2" drive for when you lose the supplied sockets/ get an imperial car...)

Thanks chaps. I've always found a six inch ratchet handle and an old aluminium table leg make a good substitute for a wheel brace, but I'll check out the Halfords one.
I'm going to get my hands on some new nuts tomorrow (oh-er!) as I lost a few during an ill fated "I wonder if rusty old Vauxhall rims will fit without spigot rings" experiment.

I have had an adventure with the wheelnuts on my 84 360
As I had a puncture I proceeded to remove the wheel nuts using YES my Halfords wheel brace But discovered the rust had enlarged the size of the nut to about 20mm so I had to call out the RAC to use a powered spanner to remove it
Don't want to get anyone worried the rust only occurs on the older type wheel nuts with a chrome cap over the top for a good finish as in MK1 cars with no hub cap fitted I never had this problem with my other 300 series cars with a good 19mm biter of a wheel nut
cheers mickt

From what I know they are all 19mm (Mickt the porblem with the nuts swelling to 20mm is common on all the alloy coated nut as fitted to 300's and 200's). The aearly production (Mk2/Mk3) steel wheel cars had a very std short nut that was then changed to a long nut.
I do have new nuts available that are dome nuts to keep moisture out.

Is £2 a thread size Dai?
What exactly are the nuts you're offering? OEM nuts? All-steel? I'd like something that's not going to crap-up, really.
cheers
